The First Prophecy
Like many of you know, I'm attending a summer camp for my church. Yeah, I'm here for work, but one of the biggest blessings of attending these each year is that I get to hear some amazing pastors preach some incredible sermons.
Tonight I experienced just that...
The pastor presented Genesis 3:15 in a way I had never seen before.
Yes, we know the story, if not...Here's the verse:
Now I've heard this called the first prophecy in Scripture, and I never really doubted it. However tonight we took a deep dive into it. And the pastor broke down 3 critical parts of this verse. I'm going to do my best to try to capture what he shared :)
First is the personal meaning to this verse....The woman, represents a church in bible prophecy but here it has a broader scope. This points to humanity as a whole. So the personal 'enmity' here is between Satan and humanity.
Actually, let's step back a second and clear some things up. This verse is right after the fall of man, when Eve ate the fruit and Adam followed suit. Here we see God laying out what will happen on His planet to make things right.
So the first step is to see who is speaking....God is directing this towards Satan or the medium of the serpent.
Then it breaks down further...."And between thy (your) seed and her seed."
There are two groups of people on earth...There's no grey area. Those who accept Christ and those that don't. Those that don't fall into the 'seed' of the serpent. 'Her' seed is the church which leads to Christ and that brings us to the climax of this powerful verse....
"I_t shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel_" - The death blow of Satan. Yes, Satan will think he's won when Christ is crucified, but our Lord and Savior defeats death and ultimately, defeats sin. It's done. Gone. Finished.
This just blew my mind when he broke this down by looking at each part of the verse. I always said, yup, Satan loses, God wins....But look at the entire biblical picture here. We fall, we are redeemed. God gets his glory and evil is defeated for eternity.
In fact, if you take the entire bible from Genesis to Revelation you see this theme of eternity lost, but eternity gained. The entire plan of redemption, is laid out to us right there at the fall of humanity. God knew this was the only way that He would be able to redeem His people and for us to spend eternity with Him.
It's crazy to think of all the theology that can go into just one verse in the bible. And there's tens of thousands of more that we can dive into. The best part is, the entire thing, points to Christ.

elijah and moses are in heaven.
we know this because elijah was taken up in a chariot. and moses from the book of jude.
they aren’t dead. one never died. and the other one represents the resurrection of us when christ comes again.
See you know about such people. Do you think that God made the mother of Jesus just to leave her dead and forgotten? God made her greater than anyone in the world. He also did what He did to Elijah and Moses, why can't Protestants even believe she is in Heaven with her own Son who loves her a lot?
She's dead. But not forgotten.
No....Christ is greater. Mary is a woman just like you, flesh and bone. Who was blessed to carry Jesus and raise Him.
I'm sure many Protestants believe she is in heaven. But they arent really 'protesting' anything. This protestant is still very much protesting :)
You're forgetting who bore the Christ you profess to believe in. Of course Jesus is greater because He is both man and God. We're talking about Mary, stop mixing it all up. 😆 Without her we wouldn't even have Jesus. But we're getting too far from the topic.
Mary is the one who crushes the head of the serpent. Period. 😆 Ask Jesus Himself + the Holy Spirit what He thinks of that first prophecy you mentioned and for sure you will know what's up!

Without Mary there is no Jesus as a man. Jesus is both man and God thus she is the mother of God. Nothing confusing about that.
The new tabernacle? Oh wow, that's a new one. I haven't heard that one....So she's the laver, the alter of sacrifice, the shewbread, the lampstand, the alter of incense....and dont forget, the ark of the covenant now?
She's all that?
The new tabernacle or the ark of the covenant, whichever you prefer. Early church fathers have a lot to say abt that even before the Protestants started protesting.
Oh wow....That's....Real blasphemy.
Nope, for Catholics that's the truth. And we've been at it for more than 2,000 yrs. God has spoken thru His prophets and saints so many times abt it. So you can't say God is committing blasphemy right?

Alter of sacrifice = Jesus death
Laver = Baptism
Shewbread = Word of God
Lampstnad = Light of the World (Jesus)
Alter of Incense = Prayers to God
Ark of the Covenant = Where God's holy law is, the mercy seat is on top of it. The shekinah Glory on top of the seat.
Which means...You are making Mary a 'god'.
Nope. Ark of the Covenant = the receptacle where the 10 commandments are. See, the receptacle is not God is it? So no she is not God but only Protestants think we think of her as God because of misinformation from Luther, Calvin and the rest of 'em.
Tabernacle = Sanctuary

O.k, i think you should do a deeper dive into what the sanctuary is...How it points to Christ. The entire tabernacle. Every piece of furniture in it. It's all Christ.

Yes, a sanctuary points to Christ. That's exactly what His mom does, points people to Christ. "Do whatever He tells You." Why does that mean we deify her? Only misinformed Protestants say that. She is the sanctuary, come on now.
She cannot be the sanctuary...Christ fulfilled all of it. That is type meeting anti-type.
You just said it, the ark of the covenant is a sanctuary, you don't even like using the word receptacle. How can a sanctuary be Christ Himself fulfilling it? The Ark of the Covenant was made to have a place for the 10 Commandments. What is not clear in that sentence? Jesus is not the Ark of the Covenant or the sanctuary Himself.
Every article of furniture in the sanctuary, points to Christ. You have to study the sanctuary and how it's laid out to see that the end result of it all, is the most holy place and Christ being our High Priest.
Courtyard - Sacrifice, Laver
Holy place - Lampstand, alter of incense, shewbread
Most Holy place - Ark, 10 commandments, shekinah Glory, mercy seat
I guess we're confusing the terms here. Ark of the Covenant you said it's a sanctuary, yes that's right. This is how they depict it. This is where the 10 Commandments, etc., are.
Lol anyway I guess I'm not good at explaining how she's the Ark of the Covenant because I'm not a priest hahaha. But again, she points everyone to Christ, that's true indeed.

Meaning when you have questions you just look at a Bible verse. You pray and then you read the Bible alone. Whenever I ask you to ask God abt so and so topic you always say you read the Bible because it's His Word. So it means when you pray you don't listen to Him at all but just read whatever's in the Bible alone as if He's not outside of it.
He speaks to us in His Word....We speak to Him in prayer.
I think that's pretty clear.
Exactly why I'm sad because you are putting yourself in a box. In prayer we must listen to Him and not just speak to Him as if He can't tell us whatever. Remember He can speak to prophets, even outside of the Torah He can speak to people, like He did to St. Paul and many others. So no that's not clear enough for you guys.

They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
