That's an odd title to a blog post....
And there is a much bigger meaning to it because of something I experienced today. And I can't go into details, mostly because it's quite personal but it made me remember one vital part of this Christian walk we are on...
Take a look at this verse from Christ Himself.
If you haven't guessed it yet, the bible is big on relationships.
God wants one with us. He yearns for it in fact. And we see this displayed when Jesus states the above.
No greater love.
Over my decades on planet earth, I've met a ton of people. Mostly acquittances, but some have been my ride or die friends. Brothers from another mother as you would say.
And the older you get, the number of 'ride or dies' goes down drastically. When you are young, the idea of having a lot of friends seems attractive. But as life goes on, we grow old...We get families, we get different priorities, and well...Life happens!
So if you get to be my age and have a half dozen amazing brothers from another mother, you are extremely blessed.
And thankful!
I always thought of myself as someone who is a good dude to be around. I liked being, liked. Making friends was never a problem for me in my life. I have always had a group of dudes I could call up at anytime, and hang out.
But like I said, you grow old. Priorities change.
And of no fault of anyone, you drift apart. But there are a select few. The ones that truly do show and prove, when push comes to shove...Are your brothers!
Today, I was reminded of that.
And I just wanted to make this 'biblical' because I was in need of an answer to prayer this week, and God used one of my brothers from another mother, to answer it.
What's crazy too, is that this friend and I were pretty much heathens, drunks and party animals over a decade ago. In fact, he even questioned my faith when I let him know I became a Christian.
But God had plans...
He's now a card carry member of Club Jesus :)
And I think it's really shown me that I need to keep preaching Christ. Especially to all my 'brothers from another mother'. None of us grew up in church, and I'm pretty sure there are only 2-3 of us that are Christians now.
Sure, it'll be done with tact and respect....But I can't just be a 'meat vessel' without purpose at this stage in my life. The great commission is calling me, more than ever before.
I'm so grateful for my friends. And highly blessed to call them my brothers!

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does

I had a recent conversation with someone that was a surprise. They knew that I was a person of faith and I knew they were not. We've drifted in and out of each others lives over the past 20 years or so. Up until about a year ago it was mostly on social media.
However, I got a call last week that I was not expecting. They had a spiritual experience surrounding a health scare. Which changed everything for them. We shared books we were reading, how faith has impacted our lives, and the types of conversations you have in a moment like that. Here was the kicker, they said no one else in their family or friend group who could understand what they had gone through so while they were very excited about the growing relationship they were developing with their faith, they felt lonely.
I think that was a good reminder that we need to be the hands and feet for one another especially in those early stages when they haven't developed their own supportive community yet.
