Short run to top off the stressful weekend

What a weekend this was…

Side effects from the chemo reached there peak yesterday and today, which is very rough my wife and our family. Today a whole day giving everything but still feel like failing. Was glad that the day was coming to an end, but right before bringing the kids to bed there was a small time window to go for a run!

A much needed run today! While only 5 km it was the first few minutes I had for myself today. My pace has declined after the longer period of inactivity but for now that is ok, that will return when I have more time again!

Just being outside today was great! The weather was how I love it, cloudy but dry which is much better compared to the high humidity of last weeks.

For next week I requested some help with the kids so I can catch a break and restore some energy! Furthermore on Tuesday I will celebrate being together for 20 years with my wife - while it is another day full of hospital appointments it is important for me to cherish that moment aswell. I plan to be able to run 3-4x next week!

I'm glad you got out for a run. It has to be so hard on your poor wife with the chemo, and puts a lot more responsibility on you. Hang in there, I hope she gets trough these chemo sessions and then onto surgery...

Great job on the run!
