Recovery run

With just a few more weeks until the start of the new year, I am creeping towards my 3000 km in 2025 milestone.
This week my trainingsprogram starts for my upcoming marathons. In order to combine both goals, I decided to add a few more recovery runs in my weekly schedule.
Today was such a recovery run.

While my entire run was in my hearrate zone 1 (until 122 bpm), I will aim to lower the heartrate further to +/- 110 bpm next few runs. By doing that I should have 0 stress on my legs and speed up the recovery from the 3 - 4 hard training sessions I plan to do weekly. That way I can keep my hard sessions shorter and fully focussed on either hill or speed work and still have sufficient milage in my system to support the training intensity without risking injuries.

While I was running close to my place, it felt good to just go for a different route from now and then. Today I went to an area that has lots of logistic warehousing. While not as beautiful has the parts more in nature, I can still enjoy it. Especially when you run at a slower pace, there is plenty of time to appreciate what you do see or the people that smile at you to greet you.
Good fun, tomorrow I have a fun run scheduled with an other runner where we look to explore a more forest area before going for some lunch.
Happy running
Nice low intensity run today, well done! You must be excited to hit that 3000 km mark for the year, that's really impressive! It sounds like you have a sound plan to get ready for the big day, and avoiding injuries is paramount.
Awesome scenery and it looks like it was a great day to run!

Love how you’re balancing training and recovery. Exploring new routes at a slower pace sounds like such a refreshing way to enjoy running.
