Off road run ~ mini holiday
Hi all, welcome back to my running blog!
I have been away with the family for a few days. We went to the south of the Netherlands - in a little place called Weert. Roughly 1 km out of our cottage there is a forrest and a heathland as part of a military training ground.
Right before sunset this is an amazing area.
While there are some nice running routes in the area on solid ground I decided to go for a off road run, in the area where I came across wild deers in my Tuesday run.
Today no deers to be seen but loads of fun running on various undergrounds.
The temperature was quite high for Dutch standards around 30C so it was quite a workout today!
The undergrounds I ran on today made me recall the februari beach and dune marathon where there was also plenty of sand to conquer. While the were no hills here so that allowed me to speed up a little and enjoy the beautiful views without coming across any other person at all (at 20:00 … people don’t know what they are missing!)
Tomorrow our minibreak will be over and we will be heading back home!
Happy running!

Sand routes are on the highest difficulty level. Kenyans should incorporate that kind of routes on their training to bring sub 2h marathons to the records.
Definitly! Just crazy to realize how fast they are and are constantly becoming even faster!
In 5 years, I think the olympic top will run sub 2h
What do you think of off-road vs road running? Is one better than the other?
