When one person can do the work of many

These days, I can't help but feel that AI is slowly altering the way that people work, and each day that goes by, I feel it more and more that we are entering some new work culture where things that used to take quite a few individuals to get done can actually be done in by just one person.

Not too long ago, you simply could not do anything significant without having to assemble a team, assign everyone different roles and coordinate various elements of the process since that was the only way that you could possibly achieve any kind of large scale results but that model is becoming much more flexible with the help of AI.

One thing that stands out to me in particular is the way in which all of the different components and facets of a job are beginning to be so much easier to handle and require less human intervention than they ever have before because AI is slowly doing more of the heavy lifting that used to be consuming hours of people's time and effort - this ranges from research and assistance for content writing, to the analyses and the coordination efforts that need to be done.

Before the scale was once determined by the sheer number of employees, now the scale of work performed is determined by how well a person can think and this is how one person can be responsible for work that once required an entire team to be done.

Two individuals might have the same access to the same AI tool, the same internet, and the same opportunity and yet have significantly different results because the two individuals approach the problem differently and also with the right amount of persistence and over a period of time. The barrier is not in what an individual has but the depth of their thinking.

So even though AI has made it much easier to get something accomplished, it does not remove the need of being disciplined and having clarity; instead, it shifts where the difficulty truly lies.

Also, the change is also being seen because there is more potential to delegate things not just based on your physical location and who is around but on how you direct everything and this is definitely something we are still adjusting to.

The advantage no longer necessarily comes solely from having the best tools at your fingertips but also in utilizing those tools in the best manner.

When you put it all together, it begins to make sense why one person can handle tasks that previously would have been done by many people; this is simply because the work itself is being done differently, not because the work has ceased to exist.
