Whats GOING on??

I believe that, like me, you are also wondering what is currently happening in the world with these wars, but the biggest question is why this is happening and where it is coming from.

In 1908, a British geologist discovered oil in Persia, now Iran.

To exploit this resource, the Persians and British joined forces to create the Anglo-Persian Oil Company (the predecessor of BP, British Petroleum, one of the world's largest oil companies).

Shortly thereafter, the British government acquired a majority stake in the company, with exorbitant profits for the Anglo-Saxons and crumbs for the Persians.

At this point in history, Iran was a constitutional monarchy with a powerful king and little democracy. However, in 1951, Mohammad Mosaddegh was elected prime minister and carried out sweeping reforms, including the nationalization of the oil industry.

This did not sit well with the British and Americans, so the CIA and MI6 planned and carried out a coup d'état to end democracy in Iran and install all power in the hands of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

Under Reza Pahlavi, Iranians suffered under a martial regime, with few political freedoms and tremendous social inequality. The country was mired in poverty while foreign companies (from the United States and the United Kingdom) lined their pockets. The images of the "good life" in "Westernized" Iran are those of a minority.

This generated anti-Western sentiment among the population, especially against the United States. This discontent with the regime exploded in 1979 with the Islamic revolution. A social movement that ended the monarchy and established an Islamic republic, a theocracy where the supreme leader has the final say.

Since then, Iran has operated under an anti-colonial worldview, where the United Kingdom, the United States, and also Israel (seen as an extension of the U.S. in the Middle East) are oppressive states that must be defeated.

That is why there will never be peace in the region.

That is why today the US and Israel attacked Iran, out of fear of the development of atomic bombs by a country that harbors enormous resentment toward them.
