When your wife brings flowers home ...

As you might remeber the wife graduated last month , and she got this nice planting container from her work with Cyclamen and Heath .

And since we had shitty weather outside cold wind and rain i decided to take a closer look at the planting container with my camera and lenses .

The camera used is : Sony A7IV

I've used three different lenses :
Sony 24-105mm F4 G OSS
Helios 44 58mm F2
Laowa 25mm Ultra Macro 2.5-5x magnification

1 ) The planting container with card from her co workers translation " That deserves a Flower "

2 ) The cyclamen very small flowers , normaly they are a lot bigger but i do like these smaller variety .

3 )Flowering heath , flowers are still closed might need more sunlight

4 ) pink decorations in the planting container and some sort of grass growing beside it .

5 )playing with the helios lens for soft bokeh

6 )One single heath flower bud , picking out one tiny flower and getting it in focus at 5x magnification was a little bit harder then i expected .

7 ) A cyclamen leaf at 5x magnification f8, you really need to use a tripod and remote trigger at 5x magnification to get a sharp image any tiny vibrations would make the photo out of focus . I use my mobile phone as a remote trigger with the incamera build application.

7 b ) The distance between the leaf and the lens +/- 4 cm this is the same distance i used when i took the photo of that Asian Ladybug some days ago . image taken with mobile phone ;)

8 )Do you remember those pink decorations balls in the planting container ?
this is what they look like at 5x magnification .

9 )Trying to look inside the cyclamen flower with 5 x magnification

9 a ) Using a lot of extra light to be able to get a decent photo , with the F8 and 5x magnification you simply need that amount of light .

As you might have guessed the last 4 macro magnification photos were created with the Laowa 25mm ultra macro lens .

Well that is all for today holidays are comming , here in Holland we start with Sinter Klaas / St Nicholas mostly for kids up to age 10 and then we move on to Christmas celebrations and New year .

Let me know in the comment if your country also celebrates St Nicholas.

Beautiful photos! It's amazing how magnification creates a completely other view of flowers... How it's used to say... TO look outside, you should look inside?

As we talked before, we do celebrate Mikulas... 😃

Beautiful flowers, captivating shots. I love that you didn't allow the shitty weather stop you from having fun with your camera. That's an evidence that you love what you do.
Bravo.

I love cyclamen flowers. In Argentina, we call them Alpine violets, and their various colours brighten up gardens in winter. I especially love that colour. The floral arrangement itself is spectacular, and congratulations again to your wife.

I especially loved the close-ups of the bud and the leaf, although the decorative pink balls in the close-up surprised me in terms of their texture. They are great photographs; it is always good to experiment and practise with everything around us. Have a great Sunday and a big hug!
