Forest & Hills Sunday morning long run
Well, that was just amazing! Running through a little forest and crossing the water with a tow raft, before continueing my run
My day started at 06:15, waking up getting dressed and a light breakfast before preparing my runninggear. With 25km runs I generally use some light nutrition for during the run. Today I decided to go for 2 isotonic energy gels (1 every 45 min) and take sufficient water with electrolytes with me. Closing the door behind me at 07:15 and running on the empty streets again!
I decided to go for the forest that is roughly 5km from my place - which is a fun run by itself but also very close to the routes I use for hill training.
Last weeks autumn storm really did some damage in this area. To the extend that some roads were closed so we just looked for paths that were available! Crossing the water with a tow raft was fun! But the available area was pretty limited today. I decided to go to my hill training spot. Rather than just doing hill repeats I looked for the mountainbike paths which are amazing to run aswell! Plenty short climbs and beautiful views!
From doing a couple of runs I decided to hit the road back home again, while trying to explore a slightly new route!
Where the first half was dry , it started to rain heavily around 15km which was very welcome as there was quite some high humidity in the air!
Back home, shower and getting dressed. Will be taking my wife for a 2 hour hike where I rented alpaca’s to join us along the walk!
Have a great sunday!
Happy running
Incredible how much those surroundings look a lot like here. Looks great! And fun to see the tow raft on the route 😃

You live in a beautiful area. I enjoy seeing the pictures of the places you run. We have nice places around, but we need to drive at least 15-20 minutes to get to them. Everything close to us is either housing or farm land.
Thank you! Yeah, I really love having these green zones in walking distance!
