Language Learning Update for June 2025
2025 is still going well, with another change this month. I added Latin, since that was something I did not study in school. I find I already know quite a bit, thanks to all those years singing in choirs and doing science. It annoys me a bit that Duolingo uses the classical pronunciation, though, since I think the ecclesiastical pronunciation is prettier.
If Latin goes well, I might consider teaching elementary Latin at the homeschool coops next year. My friend D used to teach it, but had to retire in favor of a full-time job.
If anyone else is on Duolingo, my name there is Katharina818820
Here's how it is going:

As Latin is a dead language, do people actually know how the words should be pronounced, or is it something that the language nerds love to argue over?
