Like me, I'm sure you've also noticed that the price of the currency has fallen significantly.

However, the fall in the price of HIVE is not due to one factor, but rather to a combination of general conditions in the cryptocurrency market, the design of its own economy, and some changes in technological trends.

And although HIVE is one of the fastest blockchains with no fees and is truly decentralized, its price has been affected mainly by the following reasons:

(On this occasion, I will discuss two reasons, leaving the topic open for the next post).

Reason number one.

I would say that the general cycle of the cryptocurrency market is one of the main reasons, since since 2021 most alternative cryptocurrencies have suffered massive declines.

When the market enters a state of panic or macroeconomic uncertainty, investors withdraw their money from smaller projects, in this case HIVE, and typically use these funds to take refuge in Bitcoin, Ethereum, or more stable currencies.
And although Bitcoin has recently recovered, liquidity has not returned equally to older altcoins.

The second reason would be constant inflation and selling pressure.

The ecosystem is designed to reward content creators, curators, and network validators, whom we call "Witnesses" in this case.

As a result, we could say that new coins are constantly being minted to pay for this type of reward.
Many users in developing countries use high through different platforms as a source of real income, so as soon as they receive their rewards, they sell them on the market for fiat money, i.e., dollars, euros, or local currencies. In my case, I sell HIVE coins for bolivars to pay my daily expenses.
The problem is that this constant selling generates strong downward pressure on the price if there are not enough new buyers.

This is one of the main reasons why the price of the currency is incredibly low at the moment. If you have ever had the need or obligation to sell your cryptocurrencies to cope with your daily life, as in my case, which has helped us incredibly to improve our quality of life or simply cover those small daily expenses and emergencies that arise and occur in situations we do not expect, we can realize the incredible decline that in the value of the currency. What used to be solved with just a week's worth of publications now takes me three weeks to get the same amount of money, knowing that life is becoming more expensive every day here in Venezuela.
