What is the future of crypto .jpg

Having been dealing with crypto for more than 12 years, I see that the energy is different nowadays. In today's mission, I would like to ask you how you see the future of crypto:

Will there still be some development? Will there be a downward trend? Will people use it more or less? I ask you to predict the future of crypto in this mission.

Please leave your answer as a comment below this post.

hard to tell people have been sceptic about crypto since day one , a lot of people have made money and probably the same amount of people lost money .

I lost track / intrest of all the other cryptos back in 2016 , there were simply said to many new coins / tokens to follow. I Just stick with hive no money invested just a little bit of time, and that already can give enough drama in a day if you watch hive discord.

Everything has been so different this cycle now that BTC is used in ETF's and held by major corporations. I think we're going to see more of the same crab walking for some time with no big gains or losses on BTC at least. Some other chains will blossom and others wither and die. I'm just hoping that Hive isn't in the latter category...

Overall crypto is here to stay and will only become more prevalent with time. It will never fully replace fiat, but will compete with gold and silver for reserves of value long term.

Just my opinion...

Its pretty simple - money! Right now, the majority of the world sees it simply as BTC = $$$. And as the say, money makes the world go round! So for the forseeable future, it will be finance that leads crypto mainstream.

In my opinion it's a bit unfortunate that this equation is now what crypto is all about. We tend to forget that what is innovative about crypto is not the monetary value but the technology behind it...

To be honest, I haven't the faintest idea. Fifteen years ago, crypto was something new, and based on expectations at the time, it was supposed to change the world. Well, as we can see, it hasn't, because the masses didn't embrace it. Now AI is the new thing, and the masses have embraced it very quickly. But crypto is still here, and I think it's here to stay. The question is how—and if—it will spread.

Your analysis is spot on. The technology was groundbreaking but now the hype is around AI.

It’s hard to say for sure, but I think the heyday of crypto is over. Maybe even BTC won’t grow any further, but as I said, that’s just speculation. I think the crypto world had its big boom, but the rise of AI has overshadowed it, so maybe it’ll just remain at a moderate level now. I don’t think there will be any major growth from here on out, but anything is possible, so anything could happen.

I quite agree with you. Nobody seems to be talking about crypto at the moment...

I have no idea, to be honest. If something is certain, it is that everything changes, we are seeing it day by day both in technology and in economy. And the changes can be for better or worse. My wish is that this season serves to grow less quickly but stronger.

Yes, that’s the point and I hope that we can resist the pressure of the current situation and move forward on the right direction.

I believe crypto is here to stay. People will still buy, sell, or hold some crypto assets (i.e., BTC, etc.). Developments will continue for some projects, and others (many) will disappear into oblivion. New ones will come out for sure. I highly doubt mainstream adoption will happen in the foreseeable future. But then, what do I know 😁😅

I think that in the near future, the adoption of crypto is very country dependent. And I'm only vaguely aware of developments. But the UK government seems keen to extend fiat regulations to cover crypto. Mostly so they can tax it. So I expect that there will be counter developments "in the wild" to exploit loopholes for avoidance and evasion.

New opportunities for financial services to make more money.🤑🤑🤑

I also see that a wave of regulation is taking place and the 'wild crypto west' will become another department of finance in general...

The person who has the correct answer for that will be a millionaire for sure! Because or they will go full on crypto now that it is cheap, or they are just investing in stocks or other opportunities!

Crypto won't disappear, but to get traction, governments and society need to change their ways of thinking, which right now is far behind. 12 years is a lot of time. My hope is to see more crypto adoption, but right now, my guess is to see BTC as still an asset with fluctuating values.

I think that the next wave of crypto adoption will be coming through governments that will introduce stable coins for example. In switzerland there is a development in this direction for example. It might become the tie that links crypto to the real world economy.

Yuhh it's hard to say, I think of course it'll be futher development, and people try to use it more. If to talk about price pf coins it can as upstreams also as a downstreams here is impossible to predict. Sone coins may disappear and appear some new. But stable well known coins will be further on market.
And only time can judge who was right in his/her predictions in this liotes mission ;-)

I think it will definitely move forward than backward. People need to slowly change their mindset to adopt it.

I believe that the technolgy might one day substitute traditional finance and take away the monopoly of companies like visa and mastercard for financial transactions.

Crypto is here to stay, but if there isn't much development on technology exclusive to crypto, I don't think it will appeal to so many people. I don't think it can replace fiat ever, but I do think it's a good asset class to have.

You are right to point out that it has become an asset class rather than a technology...

At this moment, it seems that if BTC might have the best future among all the cryptos. A bit like Gold. While the rest of metals don't get much attention.

Seems like BTC is the equivalent of physical gold in the new crypto world...

As countries introduce electronic money, I believe people will more easily adopt crypto and look for a place to hide some of their assets. Well, now, if countries put crypto under legal norms, supervision, monitoring and taxes, we will only have more currencies of electronic (controlled) money?

I believe that's the way things go. In Switzerland the big banks and governement are working on an official swiss stable coin...

The future of cryptocurrencies is an interesting topic filled with uncertainty.
We are likely to continue to see significant technological advancements.
Especially in terms of scalability, sustainability, and security.
The most widely accepted cryptocurrencies may gain wider acceptance.
Both in the financial sector and in everyday life Because the government and various institutions find ways to control and integrate them.
However, the market may face volatility and challenges, such as tighter regulatory restrictions or loss of confidence in some projects.
Broad adoption will depend on factors such as financial education, accessibility, and the ability of cryptocurrencies to effectively solve real-world problems.
In conclusion, although the road ahead may be uncertain and full of ups and downs, it appears that cryptocurrencies will play a key role in the future of global finance.
Usage may increase, but its form and purpose may evolve significantly over time.

when bitcoin was introduced by satoshi it was mocked as funny money. No real value as it was just computer generated numbers.
But over the years, things have changed and crypto has been adopted. Though there has been heartbreaks along the way as many lost their savings to hacks, frauds and price fluctuations or crashes (pump and dump scenario)

There is still a lot to be done for crypto to be used day-to-day. Currently is more of a speculative tool to earn money.

Crypto is there to stay and evolve.

What you say is that crypto as a technology will still evolve and I agree with you. I think it will more and more be integrated in existing markets. But with it regulation will increase.

as @duskobgd pointed out, electronic money / official state issued digital money is crypto too. and its future seems to be certain. not bright, just certain. with it, our future is dark, I am afraid

as for traditional crypto, it will go the way the cash is going right now. banned, outlawed, prosecuted. yet, it is one of our main hopes for freedom, personal and of society. partially offline solutions will need to be developed and totalitarian state takes over more and more

main hopes for freedom, personal and of society

In a world where we have more and more to question the integrity of the states and their governments, it takes another dimension...

It takes parallel dimension. Actually, "official governance" is not living on this planet. If they were they would take care of it.

Or is just that greed and power lust are too strong and appealing?

oh I forget about this one, bad timing

IMO the number of people using crypto will be the same, maybe slightly growing, but more crypto either they are projects or blockchain appears... either instantly or from years of development...

so in general, all project by % will have less users. globally, many crypto project will fail due to lack of users. of course a few will thrive

Probably it will get more and more difficult to create new projects since the regulation requirements are being put into place and it gets more demanding to create new chains. In this respect, I believe the exsisting projects that have real use cases are still interesting.

Whoever gets this question right is sure to get rich. For now, I’m investing more heavily in BTC. Many cryptocurrencies have come and gone, but BTC is still here today, and in the long run, it’s only going up.

Personally, I believe that any solid project is built on a strong foundation. Bitcoin has transformed the world, and as time goes on, it will only grow stronger. Despite the threat posed by quantum technology, I feel that Bitcoin will continue to grow stronger and leverage quantum advancements. That said, I feel that the world will operate almost entirely on virtual money, and of course, cryptocurrencies will be the order of the day. Of course, the projects that have laid a solid foundation will remain relevant and reap their rewards. I hope and wish that our blockchain will be in that position, with strong roots, after weathering many storms. Those of us who remain standing, working day by day—even if only through our blog—to keep things relevant, will reap the rewards.

Greetings from the end of the world, Argentina
A big hug to everyone.

After 12 years, crypto’s still that wild mix of innovation and hype. Some projects will fizzle, others will carve out real utility. Bitcoin’s gold reserve might hold, but altcoins? Too many chasing the next "moon" with no substance. The big win would be if it reduces friction in daily life, not just another speculative game. Let’s see if this cycle delivers or if we’re stuck in the same loop.

That's what crypto should be striving to achieve. As long as we consider it as just another investment category, we kind of miss the point of the technology...
