If you've ever wondered whether it's a good idea to combine the smell of spray paint with that impeccable aura you find inside a radio booth, believe me, these two worlds should not be combined...
I'm going to recount a victory while exaggerating some of the anecdotes that happened to explain something very funny about how this friendship was born.
- I will refer to these two people, myself and a friend whose name I don't want to mention, as "she" and "he."
With that clear, let's begin with the following: he is one of those people who sees a wall and sees it as if it were a large canvas, as if something inside his brain were telling him, "Here, you need to paint." Well, one of those nights, near a wall close to a square, he was struggling with a nozzle clogged with more paint on his face than on the wall itself.
Suddenly, a voice stopped him in his tracks, and it wasn't just any voice. It was one of those voices that sounded like a well-made coffee, something soft like velvet, or that musical sensation that you can't stop humming.
"If you keep blowing that cap, you're going to get a red light."
Hearing that phrase, he turned quickly and looked at her with glasses that screamed intellectual and a big smile that told you what you were doing wrong. She wasn't just a pretty girl with extraordinary glasses; she was the star of the most popular FM radio station in the area, but with one problem: the facade of this radio station was so boring that people walked by thinking it was just another office like the ones you see around here that belong to public government entities.
"I'm a painter, I'm not a traffic light," he replied as he wiped his face with the edge of his shirt.
The conversation took a turn and became more intimate, with her making him a proposal in one of those tones of voice that make even time pay attention to you. From there, one of the most special agreements ever made in the town was born, because that radio station sounded like heaven, but it looked like, you could even say, an ugly hospital. However, he had a lot of talent and very little budget for special marketing.
He would be in charge of turning that ugly facade of the station into a colorful urban mural, the kind that makes traffic stop to look. And in exchange, she, with her great talent, would become his official representative in all these work matters, promoting his work.
And so, in less than a week, this became the sensation of the small town, the morale boost for the station, and the station mentioning the great work the artist did, giving him the opportunity to get new jobs of this nature and thus expand his art much more.
The photo you see at the beginning is a photo of her and him on the day they discussed this project, and all the text that follows is 50% truth and 50% fantasy, as this project never came to fruition.
