It may seem like I'm repeating myself, but what I'm going to repeat is the pure truth: I'm so happy about this initiative, since I have the opportunity to show you my “Dilaras.”

The name of this bracelet has a story, which I'll share with you right now.

It turns out that several of my students live in the province of Ciego de Ávila. Of course, the mother of one of my guitar students also lives there.

One day, when I was visiting her province, it coincided with the return to the country of a girl who had been a student of mine several years ago. A student who, during her last year of school, lived in my house, as if she had been my daughter.
And that's how we love each other: like mother and daughter.

She was returning from Turkey, and coincidentally, at that time, my student's mother and I were watching a Turkish soap opera featuring a female character named Dilara.

A few days before, there had been an event in Santa Clara where they were selling these dragonfly-shaped bracelets that I loved.

The initial idea was to buy three bracelets: one for me, one for my student, and one for her mother. But when I found out my student from Turkey was in the country, I changed my plans.

One was for her.

We agreed to meet that evening at the UNEAC headquarters in the province. And once there, the three of us reunited for the first time, I gave them their bracelets as a sign of our friendship.

Since my student had arrived from Turkey and we were very familiar with the character of Dilara, we decided to name our bracelets after her.

Then we made a pact that, every time we saw each other, we would exchange bracelets.

That way, one of them would be in Turkey, mine would travel around the rest of the country, while the other would remain in Ciego de Ávila. And in this way, we would rotate them and all of them would pass by the same places.

I'm fascinated by dragonflies. That bracelet isn't the only unique thing I have in the shape of this beautiful animal. I also have earrings and necklace charms. I'm just missing a dragonfly ring, now that I think about it.

However, none of my other dragonflies have the same sentimental value as my Dilara. Because it represents a bond of friendship, commitment and love.

Quizá parezca que me repito, pero lo que voy a repetir es la pura verdad: me alegro mucho de esta iniciativa, ya que tengo la oportunidad de mostrarles a mis “Dilaras”.

El nombre de esta pulsera tiene su historia, que ahora mismo les compartiré.
Resulta que en la provincia de Ciego de Ávila viven varios de mis alumnos. Por supuesto, también la mamá de una de mis alumnas de guitarra.
Un día, cuando estaba en su provincia de visita, coincidió con el regreso al país, de una muchacha que fue alumna mía, varios años atrás. Una alumna que, durante su último año de escuela, vivió en mi casa, como si hubiera sido mi hija.
Y de esa manera nos queremos: como madre e hija.

Ella regresaba de Turquía y casualmente, en aquella época, la mamá de mi alumna y yo estábamos viendo una novela turca donde había un personaje de femenino que se llamaba Dilara.

Días antes, había estado un evento en Santa Clara donde vendían estas pulseras con forma de libélula que me encantaron.
La idea inicial era comprar tres pulseras: una para mí, una para mi alumna y una para su madre. Pero al enterarme de que mi alumna de Turquía se encontraba en el país, cambié los planes.
Una era para ella.

Nos pusimos de acuerdo para encontrarnos en la noche, en la sede de la UNEAC de la provincia. Y una vez allá, reunidas las tres por primera vez, les hice entrega de sus pulseras como un vínculo de nuestra amistad.

Como mi alumna había llegado de Turquía y teníamos bien presentes al personaje de Dilara, decidimos ponerle ese nombre a nuestras pulseras.

Luego hicimos un pacto de que, cada vez que nos viéramos, nos intercambiaríamos las pulseras.
De ese modo, una de ellas habría estado en Turquía, la mía recorría el resto del país, mientras la otra permanecía en Ciego de Ávila. Y de esa forma, la rotaríamos y todas pasarían por los mismos lugares.

A mí me fascinan las libélulas. Esa pulsera no es lo único única que tengo con la forma de este bello animal. También tengo aretes y dijes de collares. Solo me falta un anillo de libélula, ahora que lo pienso.

Sin embargo, ninguna de mis otras libélulas tiene el mismo valor sentimental que mi Dilara. Ya que representa un vínculo de amistad, de compromiso y de amor.
