Choose to take care of your mental health - LOH Contest week #262 / Elige cuidar tu salud mental - Concurso LOH semana #262 (eng-esp)

Hey girls!

The well-known Chinese philosopher, Confucius, once said: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

That's my way of maintaining good mental health in a world as constantly changing as the one we live in.

I'm a concert guitarist. My passion is music, and within music, concert music, of course.

But what I love to do is play the guitar. That's where Confucius and I are in sync and totally agree.

I play guitar to make a living, but I also live to play guitar. That is my vocation and reason for living (professionally speaking).

That way, I don't feel affected by the stress of working at something that doesn't make me happy. I can't imagine how it would affect me, how my mental health would suffer if I were in that situation. The other day I was talking about something similar, when I told you how I ask my students how they see themselves in the future. If they see themselves as guitarists, we continue the lessons, but if that isn't their dream... To those who don't see themselves as guitarists, I recommend that they think carefully about whether they want to continue studying guitar. Because if they don't feel good in this profession, they won't be happy studying, they won't give 100% in their performance, and they won't... Not even the best professionals will be happy.

Therefore, I believe that one of the ways we can help our mental health is by choosing to study and work in something we are passionate about, so that we can balance work and pleasure.

I also enjoy other artistic expressions. That's why I watch so much theater, movies, and dance performances, I read daily, and I join every cultural project I hear about that's happening near me.

I believe that, in Ultimately, to answer @joanstewart, art is the best way I have to respond.

Hola, chicas!

This is absolutely true, choosing to do what we are passionate about as a job description will really help our mental health in a way.

When the challenges of the job we see as fun and hobby poses forth, we are not all that affected because we love our fun job.

This is definitely a beautiful read. Thanks for sharing.

Loving what you do is what stand the test of time amidst trials and tribulations. We see some people do things just to survive probably that's why they do not succeed because once there is no passion, there certainly isn't any value to attract success.
