A practical woman - LOH contest week #255 / Una mujer práctica - concurso LOH semana #255 (eng-esp)

Our friend @irenenavarroart accidentally (I think) asked us a trick question in this week's community quiz #255.

The first thing that came to mind was to choose that big, beautiful house, but one that's seen better days. My artist mind began to imagine it and repair it to my liking. The house we've all dreamed of at some point.
That would be the idyllic answer. The perfect utopia, the happy ending of any Sunday movie.
Too bad life isn't idyllic or perfect, and happy endings take a lot of work to achieve.

I am a mother of two teenage children, aged fourteen and sixteen respectively. Therefore, I think it's unnecessary to mention all the time and work that goes into raising and caring for this beautiful job of being a mother. It's a full-time job.
On the other hand, I am an artist. I pursue my career as a concert guitarist in three ways: as a soloist, as the director of my Sultasto Guitar Quartet, and as assistant director of the Isaac Nicola Guitar Orchestra.
Each of these roles has its own repertoire, so each performance requires hours of practice.
As if that weren't enough, I'm the head of the guitar department at the Art School and a guitar teacher. This also takes up a lot of my time.

And all of these tasks are my passion and my responsibility. Therefore, it goes without saying that I have to be a practical woman, out of necessity, in order to set priorities.
With this in mind, the final decision is to buy the house ready to move in. I can't afford to start repairing an old house, no matter how excited I am about the project. My life, my priorities are different.
So, tell me where to sign and give me the key to my small house, not as beautiful as the other one, but completely ready.

¡Hola, chicas!

Nuestra amiga @irenenavarroart nos ha puesto sin proponérselo (creo) una pregunta trampa en el concurso de la comunidad de esta semana #255.

Lo primero que me vino a la mente fue elegir a esa casa grande, hermosa, pero que ha visto tiempos mejores. Mi mente de artista comenzó a imaginarla y a repararla a mi gusto. La casa soñada por todos nosotros alguna vez.
Esa sería la respuesta idílica. La perfecta utopía, el final feliz de cualquier película de los domingos.
Lástima que la vida no es ni idílica, ni perfecta y los finales felices hay que trabajarlos bastante para conseguirlos.

Soy madre de dos hijos adolescentes, de catorce y dieciséis años respectivamente. Por tanto, creo que no es necesario decir todo el tiempo y trabajo que conlleva la crianza y cuidado que conlleva este hermoso trabajo que es ser madre. Es un trabajo a tiempo completo.
Por otro lado, soy artista. Llevo mi carrera como guitarrista concertista en tres aristas: como solista, como directora de mi Cuarteto de Guitarras Sultasto y como subdirectora de la Orquesta de Guitarras Isaac Nicola.
Cada uno de estos trabajos tiene su repertorio propio, por lo que necesita horas de estudio para cada una de las interpretaciones.
Por si fuera poco, soy la jefa de la cátedra de guitarra de la Escuela de Arte y maestra de guitarra. Esto también me roba mucho tiempo.

Y todas estas labores me apasionan y son mi responsabilidad. Por tanto, se sobreentiende que por necesidad tengo que ser una mujer práctica para poder establecer prioridades.
Teniendo esto en cuenta, la decisión final es comprar la casa lista para vivirla. No puedo darme el lujo de comenzar a reparar una casa antigua, por más que me emocione el proyecto. Mi vida, mis prioridades son otras.
Así que díganme dónde tengo que firmar y entréguenme la llave de mi casa pequeña, no tan hermosa como la otra, pero completamente lista.
