Hello, dear craft-loving friends, who doesn't like flowers? Most of the time a specific flower catches our attention and we call it our favorite, because the women in my house love sunflowers, especially my sister. Surfing on social networks a few days ago I saw a beautiful pendant in the shape of a sunflower and at that moment I wanted to make one as a gift for my sister.

The main material used to make it is pipe cleaners and, luckily, I had a lot of yellow pipe cleaners left from the last purchase, I only had to look for brown pipe cleaners for the center, two were enough. I love every ornament I make with pipe cleaners, because of that soft and fluffy texture that brings tenderness to any object. This pendant is very easy and quick to make. When I had all the materials, I got to work to finish it before my sister arrived so I could surprise her. I hope you like it. Below, I show you all the materials needed and the step by step of the creative process.

Hola, queridos amigos amantes de las manualidades, ¿a quién no le gustan las flores? La mayoría de las veces nos llama la atención una flor específica y la denominamos favorita, pues a las mujeres de mi casa nos encantan los girasoles, en especial a mi hermana. Navegando en las redes sociales hace unos días vi un colgante hermoso con la forma de girasol y en ese instante me dieron las ganas de hacer uno para regalárselo a mi hermana.

El material principal que se utiliza para su elaboración son los limpiapipas y, por suerte, me quedaban muchos de color amarillo de la última compra, solo tuve que buscar limpiapipas de color marrón para el centro, con dos eran suficientes. Cada adorno que hago con limpiapipas me encanta, por esa textura tan peluda y suave que le aporta ternura a cualquier objeto. Este colgante es muy fácil y rápido de hacer. Cuando tuve todos los materiales, me puse manos a la obra para terminarlo antes de que mi hermana llegara y así poder darle la sorpresa. Espero que les guste. A continuación, te muestro todos los materiales necesarios y el paso a paso del proceso creativo.

• 2 carmelite pipe cleaners / 2 limpiapipas carmelitas

🌻Step by step // Paso a paso🌻

To make this medium-sized sunflower, approximately 25 cm in circumference, 8 yellow pipe cleaners are needed. These are chopped in half and each part is folded again in half without chopping. Once folded, measure 3 cm in length from the tip and twist.

Para la elaboración de este girasol de tamaño medio, aproximadamente 25 cm de circunferencia, son necesarios 8 limpiapipas de color amarillo. Estos se pican por la mitad y cada parte se dobla nuevamente por la mitad sin picar. Estando doblados, se miden desde la punta tres cm de longitud y allí se tuerce.

The two open ends are folded down, joining them to the other end. Twist this end so that they do not open, leaving a petal. This makes a total of 16 petals.

Las dos puntas abiertas se doblan hacia abajo, uniéndolas al otro extremo. Torcer esta punta para que no se abran quedando un pétalo. De esta forma se hace un total de 16 pétalos.

To make the center you need 2 brown pipe cleaners; there are two to place one on each side. Starting with one end of the pipe cleaner, roll it inwards until a round shape is obtained. The other end is folded at the tip, silicone is added to the folded part and glued all the way around the center. This prevents the pipe cleaner from opening and losing its shape.

Para hacer el centro se necesitan 2 limpiapipas de color marrón; son dos para colocar uno por cada lado. Comenzando por un extremo del limpiapipas se va enrollando hacia adentro hasta obtener una forma redonda. El otro extremo se dobla en la punta, se añade silicona en la parte doblada y se pega por todo el centro. Esto permite que no se abra el limpiapipas y pierda la forma.

It will be made 2 leaves, each wearing a pipe cleaner. It is the same procedure of the petals, but with a length of 5 cm, so do not work with the entire pipe cleaner, without chopping. When they are already made chop the excess ends leaving a cm to later glue there.

Se harán 2 hojas, cada una lleva un limpiapipas. Es el mismo procedimiento de los pétalos, pero con una longitud de 5 cm, por lo que no se trabaja con el limpiapipas completo, sin picar. Cuando ya estén hechos picar las puntas sobrantes dejando un cm para posteriormente pegar por allí.

With all the parts ready, it is time to glue. Take the center and, by the part that is glued, place the petals. The first layer of petals is of 8 pieces, then glue the two leaves on top and then the rest of the petals, placing them in the space between the first ones that were glued.

Con todas las partes listas, es hora de pegar. Tomar el centro y, por la parte que está pegada, ir colocando los pétalos. La primera capa de pétalos es de 8 piezas, encima se pegan las dos hojas y luego el resto de los pétalos, ubicándolos en el espacio intermedio de los primeros que se pegaron.

Then place the other center, in such a way that it would be the same on both sides. The petals are arched with the fingers so that they look more natural.

Después se coloca el otro centro, de tal forma quedaría igual por las dos caras. Se van arqueando los pétalos con los dedos para que se vean con mayor naturalidad.

With a piece of continuous pearl necklace and some rings with a key ring clasp, I made the part where it hangs. To do this, I inserted each end of the necklace into two small rings and glued the ends together. I then attached the rings to the key ring clasp and finally attached the pendant to a petal of the sunflower.

Con un pedazo de collar de perlas continuas y unas argollas con un cierre de llavero, hice la parte por donde se cuelga. Para ello, introduje cada extremo del collar en dos argollas pequeñas y pegué las puntas. Luego las argollas las coloqué en el cierre del llavero y, por último, uní el colgante a un pétalo del girasol.
