Have a great weekend, everyone 😊

How are you all doing? How did your week go?

As for me, it has been a very long week. I honestly thought the last two days would never end! We were in the final stage of the construction project, where there was not much left to do, apart from sometimes simply being there and waiting for the hours to pass.

It is crazy how slowly time can seem to go when you are barely doing anything except waiting for the end of the day. At times like that, one hour feels like three! 😅

Monday will be my last really busy day. It will mainly consist of technical meetings and work meals, in order to finalize the last details. Then, starting on Tuesday, I will be able to enjoy a slightly more relaxed schedule for about a month and a half, with much lighter working hours—which I definitely prefer.

The only day when I will be there from morning until late in the evening will be Wednesday. During the rest of the week, I will only be on-site for three hours a day. The remaining time will be devoted to online training.

It is not that I dislike my job—far from it—but being at work from early morning until the end of the afternoon every day is not always easy or very motivating. Fatigue builds up quickly, especially since I initially applied for the position as a disabled worker. Some of my medications tend to make me drowsy, which makes long working days even more difficult to manage.

That is also why I am currently studying in order to gradually change careers and be able to work remotely as much as possible. I would like to find a better balance, with working conditions that are more suited to my situation and less exhausting on a daily basis.

But well… there is also the reality of the job, and sometimes you just have to deal with it! 😄

In any case, I am going to take advantage of this weekend to get some rest. What about you? What do you have planned?

Well, when I say that I am going to rest, that is not entirely true… 😅

I still have a few things to do: take care of the housework in my apartment, go to the laundromat so I have clean clothes before Monday, and take some time to visit my family.

It has been a while since I have really had the time to check in on them, see how they are doing, and find out how their week went. And having a meal at my mother’s place is always enjoyable… especially since she loves cooking as if she had to feed ten people! 😂

In short, in life, we never really stop. There are always two or three little things that need to be done. But even so, it is still more relaxing to do things for yourself than to rent out your time, skills, or strength in exchange for a salary.

Even though everyday chores are always waiting for us, they are still more enjoyable when they directly contribute to our own lives and well-being.
