Well, if you're not yet aware, Blurt is a sibling blockchain to Hive, both of which originated as hard forks from Steem in 2020, with Blurt coming a little bit later. I found starting on Blurt to be very easy, and with strong support from the community there, many of whom are present or former Steemians and Hivers. Blurt only has one token, BLURT, 115 or so of which are equal to 1 HIVE. In liquid form, it can be powered up to become Blurt Power, or kept liquid for transaction fees. Blurt doesn't have resource credits like Hive, so every transaction costs some liquid BLURT. Thankfully both liquid BLURT and Blurt Power grow quite quickly, so it's rarely a problem.
