When Opportunity Meets Character.

There is one thing that is very certain and very sure, which is that not everyone that moves with successful people is going to be successful. Some will just be there as a figurehead because they don't know what it means to be successful, and they do not understand what success is. But one thing I do pray for in all my life is that when I see success, I should be able to identify it and know what to do about it and not waste the opportunity. Some have lost their chances of becoming a better person in life due to the fact that they refuse to open up to some people of impact in their lives. And they believe that they can live a life on their own.

One thing I grew up to understand is that no one can be an island, and if you feel you can run the race of life on your own without anyone's help, then you are in for it. There are some people that have been destined to just come into your life at some certain time and season that they will just come and help you or teach you something, even that you might have known, but you will just see that the approach to those things will just differ. Some are meant to come into our lives to teach us a lesson, and some are there to share our burden with us either for some time or for a long period.

For whichever it is, we should be able to identify that everything does not last forever and it is a time and season, and if we do not utilize the opportunity as we see it, I am very sorry to say that such an opportunity might not come again. Just like the normal adage, we say that opportunity comes but once. Once an opportunity has gone past us, it is always hard because at that moment the person or thing that brought that opportunity to us will feel we are not ready or interested. So what is the point when you are not ready to make better use of the opportunity.

I woke up this morning, and I went through my WhatsApp stories, and I saw a friend posting about how someone was walking with someone that could have changed a friend's life, but he refused to take the opportunity until he missed his chances. And once the opportunity has been missed, then it's gone forever. What went wrong with this guy? He has been working for a man that has carried his burden for years, and this man has been planning on making his life better and giving him a better life because he has the capacity to do that, but instead of being a loyal person till the end, he went ahead and stole from his boss.

This was not even the height of it. After stealing from his boss, he still went ahead to track his boss's phone to send some serial killer to take the life of his boss when he doesn't know the plan the man has for him. What saddened me was that the boss had already gotten his passport ready for him to travel out of the country but waited for some time before he disclosed it to him. Now he has forfeited the opportunity, and it's all gone. I just hope he can find favor from the man and they retain their close relationship afterward. The only thing Isay to him is to always think deeply before you behave irrationally next time. Always remember that opportunity comes one. Your character determines what happens next.
