AI and humanity | Should we be afraid or Excited

Friends, today I am going to talk about AI tools and share my opinion on whether AI tools are a threat to humanity or one of the most beneficial inventions in history. Now, when it comes to AI tools, there are a vast number of tasks that people are doing today. Some of them are even against morality. So maybe when we see that aspect of the tools, then we should definitely consider AI tools as one of the threats. And when I say that it is used to go against morality, I am talking about tools like DeepFake that can create your fake images or fake videos as well.

I am sharing the threats of AI tools first, as I think that is the most important thing because the benefits are seen by everyone, but the threats are often ignored. So, the second most harmful threat that AI tools bring is misinformation. AI can create fake news again using the technology, and you can be misguided about anything. It can be about a figure, it can be about an event, or anything else.

And obviously, when we are talking about threats, one of the most talked-about threats of AI tools is job losses. Many routine jobs like the ones in factories, offices, or call centers will definitely be at risk because AI will simply replace them.

And if not trained properly, or if the group of people training AI are not unbiased and free from discrimination, then obviously the tool that is being created will be one of the most biased and discriminatory tools. So that can be another threat in my opinion.

And lastly, the threat that I think is very common and which I believe I am also part of is dependency. I am dependent on AI tools, and I use them in my daily life, and I know I cannot live without them now.

Now let us talk about the positive aspects of AI tools, and obviously, there are so many positive aspects of the tools that we use. The first aspect is accessibility, and this is the benefit that most people might not talk about.

But friends, I think the accessibility for people with disabilities is something AI-powered tools will bring. I was recently reading about a chip that was developed by Elon Musk and his team that will help people with disabilities overcome their limitations.

Then there come the new job opportunities. Obviously, if you are someone who comes from a tech background, you might know that there are so many AI training programs going on.

So friends, if you are someone who is worried about jobs, there is another aspect that gives rise to new job opportunities. You can take part in AI training and machine learning development to be a part of the future.

AI also automates boring and repetitive tasks like customer support. Like I mentioned in the chat section, the call center jobs will be addressed. Customer support jobs are already being replaced by AI tools. There are so many AI models that are working in the name of customer support, and people are also satisfied with them. Even driving in the near future will be done by AI tools or AI machines.

Data entry tasks will be easily done by AI tools and so on. So it will increase efficiency. While it might look like a threat, it is also a benefit because it is actually eliminating the boring tasks that we do on a daily basis, and it will help humans utilize and spend their time on something else.

So friends, I think if we talk about the risk or the threat, not everyone is at risk. It depends on the person if they will be at risk. People who are not ready to learn or who are not ready to work independently without these AI tools are at risk. People with low skills and people with ordinary, repetitive jobs are at risk.

Student creators who use AI tools for creation are at risk because if these tools are taken away, they will simply not be able to generate their content. And lastly, I think students and professionals who stop thinking critically are at risk because when AI tools reach them, they will lose the ability to think critically.

So that is what I think. I do not have a single answer to whether I feel it is a threat or it is a beneficial thing for humanity. But I think AI is not the real threat, and the way we use it or the way we look at it is what will make it a threat or a beneficial thing for us.
