Most of what I have read on posts and comments on Hive about running a Hive Witness node say that the costs of running one will certainly exceed what is earned (in the form of Hive Power) unless one is within the Top 20 Witnesses !INDEED. ๐ธ๐คฏ๐ค

A new Hive Witness having signed at least one block is already good progress, since I see a lot of Hive Witness nodes not having produced even one block before shutting down. ๐งโโ๏ธ๐

Yes, I very much agree. Our witness has been doing pretty well since launching. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
!ALIVE
!LOLZ
Let's hope that the respective Hive Witnesses page for PeakD and Ecency show how many blocks each Witness node has successfully mined, not just the number of missed blocks. ๐งโโ๏ธ
@borniet's @botlord node currently has 7 missed blocks, while @aliveandmmb currently has no missed blocks. ๐ I think that Bjorn learned from hosting @botlord to avoid missing blocks on the @aliveandmmb node that you co-created with him. ๐ค

Yes, I'd very much like to see that feature implemented.
Yep, our little witness is chugging along pretty well I'd say, and he's gotten a whole lot of experience running nodes.
!LOLZ
!STRIDE
I think that the percentage of successfully mined blocks over missed blocks is more important than just the missed blocks and/or mined blocks. ๐คฏ Hive Witness nodes which have been working for many years would generally have more missed blocks than new ones. ๐ค

Any Hive dev (such as @borniet in this case when he has the time) can create a Hive app that shows only Hive Witnesses on one page, but with a lot of details that would definitely exceed what #PeakD or any other Hive frontend displays about such Witnesses. ๐

I think that a detailed witness dapp would be excellent, along with a better BeeSwap. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค

You can simply redirect two people who enjoy replying with multiple comments under a single comment or post to each other, and watch their engagement multiply (exponentially). ๐
Anyway, your !BEER token tipping command there failed, probably because the BEER bot is not drunk at that moment and did see the PIZZA token tipping command on your comment there. ๐คฏ๐
Thankfully I don't come across that many people that do that.
Cool, it happens sometimes. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
!BEER
If you notice (at least) two people (on Hive) talking to each other with multiple replies per comment, then you can simply avoid looking at their conversations. ๐งโโ๏ธ
The BEER token tipping command on my previous comment didn't work, even if it is the only bot command on that comment. ๐คฏ It looks like the BEER bot was drunk that time after all! ๐๐

What I mean is (almost) every single comment from two people talking here on Hive gets two (or more) replies from the other. ๐คฏ
Let's just think of the !BEER tipping token as the "drunk token" from now on. ๐บ๐
That sounds like it would get confusing fast.
Works for me. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
!BEER
Those (two or more) people might be well-prepared for such exponentially-growing conversations! ๐คฏ
Here's a "drunk !BEER token" tipping attempt for you! ๐บ๐
I hope so, and I'm glad that I won't be a part of it, unless of course the conversations are actually interesting, and even then I don't like multiple threads of conversation under the same post.
Fingers crossed! ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
!BEER
If you are part of those conversations, then you could simply reply to one of the comments for every "layer" even if they talk using multiple replies per comment. ๐ค
My BEER token tipping command on my previous comment worked twice, here and here. ๐ค That's "drunk BEER tipping" !INDEED! ๐ป๐
I seriously have no interest in doing that.
Yep, it's a BEER roulette bot. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
!INDEED
It was only if you (managed to) become part of such conversations though (whether you liked it or not). ๐คฏ
It would be better if the !BEER token tipping bot always tipped one or more BEER, instead of zero or more. ๐ป๐
I would generally avoid getting pulled into conversations like that.
Yep, true, or even that it just worked as it's supposed to work. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
!BEER
But the problem is that you might eventually get pulled into such conversations, so let's !HOPE that you are ready when that happens !INDEED! ๐

!ALIVE

!STRIDE
They might continue tagging you occasionally (if they think that your mention notifications just get buried on your feed) until you finally reply (likely by asking them to refrain from tagging you)! ๐คฏ๐

Nope, bots that work well are very boring, as there's no drama or variance in how they operate. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค

I wonder how we can say how well a bot works if it employs some sort of randomization (such as the HBIT token mining bot randomly giving BLAQ-based tokens). ๐ค
The randomization itself may have problems too (such as the random number generator producing numbers that mostly "lean" to one side). ๐คฏ๐ค
The first part of your sentence there is pretty convoluted and difficult to understand. Then it wouldn't be a true random-number generator if it skews to one side. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
!BEER
I wasn't able to remove the word "if" between "say" and "how" on the first sentence of my previous comment. ๐คฏ

Many more people are unstaking and selling HIVE than are buying and staking it. HIVE's fiat-dollar price has been steadily declining for years now, so the present crypto downturn is only part of it.
