Hoy decidí salir a caminar con toda mi tropa, 😁 mi tía, mi hermano y también mi perrito Duke, todos salimos temprano hacia el parque emocionado porque por primera vez íbamos todos. Decidí cambiar la ruta y pasar por nuevas calles y me encontré con una palma muy bonita, pero lo que realmente llamó mi atención fueron sus flores o semillas.

Esas pepitas rojas parecen frutos, mientras las observaba salió la señora que vive en la casa donde está la planta y como me vio sacando fotos nos pusimos a conversar, me dijo que eran sus flores y ella cree que también son las semillas, para ser unas flores son extrañas, pero es posible, le pregunté si eran comestibles y me dijo que no sabía, aprovecho para regalarme algunas por si deseaba sembrarlas.

Luego de la conversación que se extendió por un rato nos fuimos rápido al parque, como ya eran más de las 8 no encontramos a nadie, las personas que entrenan aquí vienen muy temprano entre 6 y 8 am. A mí me gusta tener el parque para mí sola, siento que me concentro más.

Today I decided to go for a walk with my whole gang, 😁 my aunt, my brother, and my dog Duke. We all left early for the park, excited because it was the first time we were all going together. I decided to change the route and take some new streets, and I came across a very beautiful palm tree, but what really caught my attention were its flowers or seeds.

Those red seeds look like fruits. As I was looking at them, the lady who lives in the house where the plant is came out and saw me taking photos, so we started talking. She told me that they were her flowers and that she thinks they are also the seeds. They are strange flowers, but it is possible. I asked her if they were edible and she said she didn't know, but she gave me some in case I wanted to plant them.

After chatting for a while, we hurried to the park. As it was already past 8 o'clock, we didn't see anyone there. The people who train here come very early, between 6 and 8 in the morning. I like having the park to myself; I feel like I can concentrate better.

Los muchachos comenzaron la rutina, y yo también corrigiendo a mi hermano porque hace algunos ejercicios de forma incorrecta con las máquinas y me preocupa que se lesione. Duke se relajó de una forma que corría por todos lados y luego descansaba, se veía feliz, pero lamentablemente este será su último paseo y no sé cuándo los pueda volver a sacar porque hoy conocí una noticia a través de los medios de comunicación noticieros de televisión y redes sociales sobre la existencia del virus del moquillo y parvovirus que está en todo el territorio nacional.

El colegio de veterinarios hizo un llamado a toda la población para que evite sacar a sus mascotas, en lugares públicos, parques, plazas, y cualquier lugar fuera de sus hogares, la mortalidad en perros y gatos es alarmante y lo mejor es prevenir. Yo sí había observado varios perros callejeros con una tos horrible y en sus cuellos alguna persona les hizo un collar de limón como medida de ayuda, noté varios enfermos, pero no pensé que la situación fuera tan grave, me imagino que la proliferación se debe a la falta de vacunación y control sanitaria.

En nombre de Dios este virus acaba rápido y no causa la muerte de más animales ni que los dueños sufren por estas pérdidas. Ya faltan pocos días para los carnavales, espero que en sus países disfruten de esta fecha.

The veterinary association has asked the entire population to avoid taking their pets to public places, parks, squares, and anywhere outside their homes. The mortality rate in dogs and cats is alarming, and prevention is the best measure. I had seen several stray dogs with a horrible cough, and someone had put lemon collars around their necks as a remedy. I saw several sick animals, but I didn't think the situation was so serious. I imagine that the spread of the disease is due to a lack of vaccination and health control.

For God's sake, may this virus end soon and not cause the death of more animals or the suffering of their owners due to these losses. There are only a few days left until Carnival. I hope you enjoy these festivities in your countries.
