No es mucho el cerco que impide que toques las cosas, son las normas y la educación la que debería impedírtelo. Sin duda alguna nos falta bastante para lograr cuidar y proteger las cosas que deseamos que nuestros hijos miren a futuro. Mi mamá decía que sin multa o castigo no se lograba nada, la gente continuaba tirando agua sucias a la calle, hasta que se pusieron los castigos, que esos si duelen en el bolsillo.

Eso nos deja mucho aprendizaje y aunque no soy la de matar a un muchacho a golpes, sé que de pequeño, una pequeña corrección a tiempo te evita grandes males. Entiendo también que hablar y explicar puede ayudar mucho.

Recuerdo que cuando mis hijos eran pequeños yo tenia muchas cosas lindas en la mesa del centro y eran muy delicadas y costosas. Yo tenia varias soluciones pegarles constantemente o simplemente guardar las más valiosas y dejar unas pocas en la mesa que fueran menos delicadas. Esperar a que ellos crecieran un poco y se dieran cuenta que eso se rompía y que había un castigo. Me parecía mejor quitarlas y esperar que crecieran un poco, ¿porque atormentarse uno y a los niños para que no lo tocaran? Ellos necesitaban ese aprendizaje. También ponerles un cerco para impedirles que llegaran hasta los objetos. Pero la curiosidad de ellos podía vencer casi cualquier obstáculo.

Al final la vida se vuelve un constante aprendizaje para salvar los obstáculos.

ENGLISH VERSION

It's not much of a fence that prevents you from touching things; it's rules and good manners that should stop you. Undoubtedly, we still have a long way to go to properly care for and protect the things we want our children to inherit. My mother used to say that without fines or punishments, nothing could be achieved. People continued throwing dirty water into the street until punishments were introduced, and those really do hurt your wallet.

That teaches us a lot, and although I'm not one to beat a child to death, I know that when you're little, a small correction in time prevents big problems. I also understand that talking and explaining can help a lot.

I remember when my children were small, I had many beautiful things on the coffee table, and they were very delicate and expensive. I had several solutions: constantly hitting them or simply putting away the most valuable ones and leaving a few less delicate items on the table. I waited for them to grow a little older and realize that things could break and that there would be consequences. I thought it best to remove them and wait for them to grow a little. Why torment myself and the children by telling them not to touch them? They needed that learning process. I also thought about putting up a fence to keep them from reaching the objects. But their curiosity could overcome almost any obstacle.

In the end, life becomes a constant learning process of overcoming obstacles.
