Bill Gates’s Plan for Africa

Bill Gates plans to give away almost all of his $200 billion fortune to improve health and education in Africa. This is an amazingly generous thing for someone in his position to do.

Kinda looks like what my mentor Warren Buffett would do. I mean you know what they say: show me your friend and I will show you your character. Makes perfect sense now.

Bill is planning that over the next 20 years, most of his wealth will focus on better healthcare and education across Africa. If you've read about it, he’s not just talking of giving money, he's focused on specific changes like better nutrition for mothers and children using the trending technology Artificial intelligence to support healthcare and local innovation.

The reason this is so helpful right now is that the US government has decided to cut aid to Africa, especially for critical things like HIV/AIDS treatment so that leaves a gap. Bill Gates says his foundation will try to fill that gap.

What a wonderful soul. If he decided not to do it, who could question him on what to do with his money, so if he has decided to do it I think he deserves to be praised.

His focus is on mothers and children to have better nutrition, lower deaths from preventable causes and make sure future generations are not held back by sickness or poverty. A perfect example is Rwanda, where AI already helps doctors find risky pregnancies early. This is what can happen if you combine technology with real health problems.

Well some people do not trust Gates just because he avoids taxes or has too much power over global health. But if you ask me I think Africans need someone to help regardless. The main point we should be focused on is he is using his resources for very specific results. If we do not see private money step in where public funds disappear more people suffer.

For me, the idea is not only logical it is necessary.

When governments step back, I think it’s right for those who can help to step forward. That is what Gates is doing and I support it.
