The Next HiveFest Location? Gambling Addiction, Crypto Mining, etc. .:. Recap of Hive Humpday Hangout SE #18 (October 22, 2025)
I have no idea what's happening, but I'm doing these huge breaks between doing the job! Usually, after doing a show, I would create a recap post in the next 24-48 hours, but now, I needed over a week to sit down to do it! It's not because of the HIVE price or similar factors; it's more about other circumstances happening online and offline. Anyway, let's do this...

The whole concept of the #HHHLive show is to create a space where people can hang out and chat (that's why there is a "hang out" in the name 😃)... After a couple of first shows, I realized that it's nice to see people coming up on the mic sharing stuff about the topic's show, but what's even better is to give people a chance to bring up their own topics! That's when the idea of these "Special Edition" shows was born, to have a "safe" place where you can share and be heard... To keep it more "personal", I have decided not to record these "special" shows, which gave more self-confidence and a boost to people to come out and share...
As I already mentioned, the HIVE price "issue" did its thing... Fewer people are active on HIVE (and in Discord), and also in the recent shows... On the other side, I'm happy to see some of my friends pushing, creating, and engaging on HIVE... They knew that wealth, and the best connections, are built in "bad times"... And for those who care about numbers, the curation APR is higher, and as fewer people create, more rewards (in HIVE!) go to those who do!
Back to the show recap... What have we talked about? Well, we were jumping from one topic to another, but we had a few "main topics" that we would always somehow come back to... So, most talks were about the HiveFest, but not about the one that passed, but about the future that will come... Where it will be, which country, why, etc. There were numerous countries mentioned, like Lithuania (@coldbeetrootsoup lobby 😃), Turkiye (@incublus), the Philippines, Guatemala (Hive Hub), Dubai (easy to travel), etc.
We were discussing accommodation prices in those countries, prices of goods and services, and how easy it is to get there... While there are some huge communities in Africa and parts of Asia, it's not that easy to travel there... We also mentioned the post by @livinguktaiwan, where she gathered prices of goods around the world...
It's not all about the HiveFest; there is something in smaller meetups too... Speaking of that, there will be one in Krakow in November, so if you can come, it would be awesome to see you there... It is from November 14th to 16th... Another one that is already scheduled will take part in Alicante, Spain, next year... As that's not enough for us, we were talking about other places where we can do it... @felixxx mentioned Serbia, so I called out @duskobgd to chime in and share his thoughts about it... So, if you like "exotic" places like Serbia, there is a big probability of doing a meetup there next summer... As @seckorama was also in the show, we asked him about prices in Slovenia, as that country is a real gem!
We did move the topic to other things... We were talking about arcade games from the past, which led to a talk about gambling and sports betting... As those things can lead to addiction, we shared stories about that too... Not nice to hear sad stories, but they are a good lesson for everyone...
We had a short discussion about crypto mining, as it looked like at least 3 of us in the show were doing it in the past... 😃 @txracer and @felixxx were fans of Nicehash, which was (maybe still is) a mining platform where you could mine any (minable) tokens, while I was more specific in my mining adventure...
Closer to the end of the show, @dlmmqb joined us and shared his newest research and work... He created a short story on his HIVE blog, and from it, giving prompts to AI, created a video where the narrator was telling the story, followed by interesting slides...

The show was a bit under 2 hours long, and we had a lot of fun! The time passed so fast that I had no idea it was that long... 😃

I think we didn't expect that the price of HIVE would go down this much. Sad to see its bleeding; however, those who have gone will come nack when it has gone up again 😉
Yeah, it's sad to see the price going down, but the rest of the cryptos aren't doing much better either...
The positive side is that the curation APR and the post rewards are better than usual, if you want to collect HIVE!
Best place for hivefest would be Spain, good climate, good people, good sea, good food!
