Back to the... Past? .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 283
In the late 90s, there was an interesting Australian TV show named Beyond 2000 running on the national TV in my home country... As. I was in my early 20s, it was fascinating for me to "see the future" in front of my eyes... I remember some of the clips showing automobiles running on water (hydrogen), but also electric cars, which didn't exist in those times... They had a lot of "misses" (for now), of course, but you never know what could happen in the future...

Huh... Why that intro for this post? Well, believe it or not, I got there while I was searching for this small telephone graphic inside the thumbnail image for today's post... 😀 I'm not sure that everyone will recognize this telephone model as newer generations, maybe didn't see it ever! 😃
When I look back, we made some huge technological steps in the last 30-40 years, and with AI, that advance will become even faster! Nowadays, you don't even know anymore if you are talking with an AI or with a real human when you are on the line with customer support, for example... For example, yesterday, I got an email to confirm an appointment with a medic, and immediately after my reply (which wasn't generic), I got another reply that my "virtual assistant" acknowledged my message!
After researching AI and getting to know it better, that wasn't surprising at all... What was surprising was the newsletter message from one hotel franchise company, where I stayed multiple times...

After working in hosting and domain resell business, I would give anything to get rid of phone calls, and even chat messages, and not go back to it!?! So, what's the trick here? After re-thinking about it, I would say that many people have already gotten fed up with all the AI, automatic machines answering, and "human-less" conversations... And to be completely honest, I'm too... Especially when I'm on the "customer side" of the line... 😂
Plus, if you were booking accommodation lately, you may have made some "mistakes" during the process, but you have surely heard about some negative experiences... The room wasn't as described, the photos were from 10 years ago, the place was at another address, etc. And when you are in trouble, you get an online form to complain, and you have to wait... As you can't find ANY customer support number (or live chat)! Having a number available makes you feel much "safer" and not that vulnerable...
For the end of this short brainstorming, I would put myself in the Beyond 2000 author's shoes and try to "predict" the future... This "back to the past" example experiment will show how human contact is important... We are social beings, and we need contact, dialogue, interaction with other humans... If not, all those teleshops would have gone extinct a long time ago! 😃
Personalized services make you feel "more important", and sales made through direct conversation with another person feel much more valuable (usually they aren't... lol)...
What do you think? Does it make sense to offer phone booking/services nowadays? Is it that step backwards, or a good strategy to attract new clients?

Who knows, maybe they will pop out and shoot to the moon... This week, it's turn on SPS tokens to go to your wallets, and you can "make your bet" with them... If you believe the price will continue to go down, you can just sell them on the market; if not, you can stake them in the game and accumulate more... It's on you...

240 SPS tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 10.941%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 13.159%!
I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price... Currently, the BUY side of the WORKERBEE tokens is very thin, and it's hard to calculate the middle price.

I don't know... Whatever the strategy is, I think the existence of a man on the other side pleases those a little older, who have been overtaken by new technologies.
And certainly, when you have a living person on the other side, I think that in most cases it is easier to get the right information, because there is at least a little empathy for you, as another living being who needs help or support.
When we are directed to AI bots and machines, everything is clear there, there are no emotions. The machine is not interested if you are older, if you do not understand something or if you need a more detailed explanation.
The only advantage, in my opinion, is that when you are 100% sure of what you are looking for, you get it faster.
I think it's a new normal, and honestly, I don't like it as much. The automated/AI systems aren't always accurate, and I prefer talking to a real person if I can.
