There is a war in our hearts, even if we try to deny it. We still experience one form of burden or another. As a father, we may think of our sons and daughters, child support, our wives' needs, and more. As a kid, we may think of our educational grades and more, especially when we are not meeting up. It is now left to us to either let this burden affect us negatively or positively.
True happiness doesn't lie in abundance, nor is it a function of time. Happiness is a state—consciously or unconsciously—of being immune to the challenges we face in life.
To choose happiness is not a fantasy; it is one's reality to choose happiness. Happiness isn't an element of calmness; it is an excited state, sometimes beyond what one can contain.

One problem that one may face is sustaining true happiness—that is joy. Through the storm, through the rain, through the ups and downs, the choice to be happy is like acknowledging to one's consciousness that such problems do have a solution.
Reminiscing over issues of life brings sadness. The pain one gets from sadness, if not taken care of, can become sorrow.
When I am sad, I meet with friends, I read books, and I share my predicaments. At such periods, I have now generated my own theory of life: sadness is for a while, and happy people face hard times but choose to be happy.

In the recent NYSC camp, I chose to live my life and wane my sorrow.
The camp was a stressful one, but we chose to enjoy it. We chose to live it and love it.
During the early morning parade, we sang songs and danced. We clapped our hands, worshipping our Maker.
We composed funny sounds that made us wonder if we truly were suffering.
New friends from far and near shared their difficulties, and we also shared ours. Some had solutions, and in fact, we made fun out of sharing it.
To Adeola, Joseph, Ayomide, Priscilla, and many more people that I have met—thanks. A big thank you. You taught me how to laugh more and cry less.
I remembered how funny it was when, in one session, I shared my predicament, and the response was hot—it was not pity. It was correctional, and it made me smile.
We had our own difficulties, but we didn't allow it to pull us down.
