The Nigerian super falcons through to 2025 AFCON Women Championship

It was a day of joy for all Nigerians and footballlovers as the Nigerian super falcons through to final of the 2025 African Women Championship.

The falcons defeated South Africa by Nigeria 2:1 South Africa. Its was a tough game that saw both team score through spot kick. First it was Nigeria who got a penalty after a review show that a South African player blocked the ball with her hand. Nigeria falcons captain Rasheedat Ajebade converted from the 18 yard to put Nigerian women ahead in the first half.

At 60th minutes of the second half, south Africa were awarded a penalty for a foul by a Nigerian defender. The spot kick was converted perfectly sending The Falcons goalkeeper the wrong way to bring the score to 1:1 level.

At added minutes of the just when the game seems to end a draw and go into extra time, Michelle Alozie scored a stunning goal to hand Nigerian women victory and qualify them to final. With the result, Nigerian falcons will be playing their 12th Final of the competition out of 15th since it inception. They have so far played 11th Final wining all. Fans in the stadium were seen jubilating and celebrating Nigerian victory over the south Africans.

Nigerian falcons came through to the Final in this tournament conceding only one goal at the semifinal. They will now face host Moroccan female team in the final after they defeated Ghana in the other semi final 4:2 on penalty. The game settle for a penalty after it all ends 1:1 draw at full and extra time.

It is now to be seen if The Falcons can win their 12th title out of possible 15th or will they get an upset by the host Moroccans. As a Nigerian I pray and hope the my beloved country emerge victorious.
