I've heard about the radar lights but they're pretty expensive... why don't you use a chest strap for your heart rate? It's easier to check on your Garmin.

The radar is well worth the price. If it is windy I don't hear the vehicles until really close but this tells me 150 meters out when they are there. I have the garmin 515 which is the old model and was $175 but still works great.
I've got my heart rate broadcast to my edge so it is easy to see but I was trying the different wrist as the heart pumps out one arm first so wanted to see if there was a difference. It is pretty accurate compared to my blood pressure cuff.
