Hello SilverBloggers friends.
I hope you are all doing well and enjoying life's simple moments. Today I continue a series dedicated to some of the women whose work often goes unnoticed, yet whose effort and dedication help keep our hotel running every day.

Chapter 7: The Invention Inside the Bag

Every hotel has places that guests never see.
They see the restaurant, the beautiful dishes, the carefully prepared meals, and the service that welcomes them during their vacation.
But behind all of that, there are other stories.
There is a small place where employees sit for a few minutes, share a meal, exchange stories, and gather strength before returning to work.
It is the employee dining room.

The first thing I noticed about this place is that the most valuable thing there is not what is on the plate.
It is what happens around it.
A coworker arrives with a small container and says:
"I brought some avocado. Let's share it."
Someone else opens a bag and reveals a homemade dessert prepared with simple ingredients.
Another person brings a recipe that has been passed down through generations, made with whatever was available at home.
These are not luxurious meals.
They are not prepared for photographs or social media.
But they carry something much more important.
Care.
Over the years, I have learned that the word "invention" has a special meaning for many Cuban families.
It means finding a way.
Creating something from what is available.
Turning a simple idea into a solution.
And in the employee dining room, those inventions appear every day.
A little extra food shared between colleagues.
A suggestion on how to prepare something differently.
A small gesture that says: "I thought about you."
Sometimes the best ingredient in a meal is not something that can be bought.
It is solidarity.
I have seen women arrive tired after a difficult morning and leave the table with a different expression on their faces.
Maybe the problems are still there.
But they feel a little less alone.
That is the magic of that hidden corner of the hotel.
While guests enjoy carefully prepared meals, employees create their own kind of feast.
A feast made of conversations, laughter, memories, and the certainty that someone else is willing to share what they have.
The employee dining room is not a place where there is always plenty.
But it is a place where what exists is often enough when it is shared.
And perhaps that is the greatest invention of all.
Thank you for reading.

Vamos a compartirlo."
