We are now on the 18th week of MemeHive Curation Contest. As we start this week, I just want to highlight some of the significant changes in our reward mechanism.

The First Three Months

We started this initiative last 05 April with the proposal and funding of @greywarden100. Since we were still testing the sentiment of the community about this initiative, we started small in reward distribution. If you still recall, 1st place receives 2,000 MEME, 2nd place 1,000 MEME, 3rd place 500 MEME, and 250 MEME for consolation prizes.

A week after, the MEME rewards had been doubled from 2,000 MEME to 4,000 MEME for 1st place, from 1,000 MEME to 2,000 MEME for 2nd place, and from 500 MEME to 1,000 MEME for 3rd place, plus 2 consolation prizes of 500 MEME each.

After a month, two changes had been made. One, the PEPE rewards had been added. And two, the MEME rewards made another increase from 4,000 MEME to 5,000 for 1st place, from 2,000 to 2,500 MEME for 2nd place, from 1,000 to 1,500 for 3rd place, and from 500 to 1,000 MEME for consolation prizes.

Interestingly, entering the 3rd month in the life of this curation contest, another token had been added as a reward. This time, it was PAY through the sponsorship of @antisocialist.

Two New Suggestions

Now that we are entering the 4th month, two new suggestions have been made. The first suggestion came from @greywarden100. Due to the decreasing value of the MEME token, he proposed to double the reward. And so starting this week, instead of 11,000 MEME, 22,000 MEME will be distributed as follows:

• 1st Place - from 5,000 MEME to 10,000 MEME

• 2nd Place - from 2,500 MEME to 5,000 MEME

• 3rd Place - from 1,500 MEME to 3,000 MEME

And two consolation prizes—from 1,000 MEME to 2,000 MEME

The second suggestion is from @antisocialist. He suggested that the three reward tokens should be distributed to the winners as staked. @pepetoken agreed. However, I still need to hear a confirmation from @greywarden100. So far, unless we hear an update from @greywarden100, both PEPE and PAY rewards will be sent to the winners' Hive Engine wallets as powered up starting this week.

Turning our attention to our meme accounts dedicated to curating meme content, the table below shows our progress for one week.

My MEME power increased by 25,184, higher than last week; it's 5.63% compared to 3.45% last week. In the case of PEPE, it's lower; it's 55.12% compared to 56.58% last week. As for PAY, I added 22 this week.

In terms of curation reward and curation stake reward, both my MEME and PEPE voting value increased slightly. @kopiko-blanca's MEME curation reward/staked reward increased from 15.21/1.69 to 20.14/2.23. As for @arcelcalvin9, his PEPE curation reward/curation staked reward increased from 132.90 to 141.28. Going back to @kopiko-blanca's PEPE curation reward/curation staked reward, it also increased from 4.58 to 6.65.
