Inevitable is grande on the market, but also grande in production. What to do?
I was scrolling through my Splinterlands card collection earlier in the week to see if there were some options in cards to put up for rental. The rental market has changed for a bit again since the recent changes to the game and also land needs some big cards to get the production going.
So I was just scrolling through my high level cards when all of a sudden I saw that one of my cards was listed now on the market for $200 bucks.
$200 bucks!! Well, what do you think about that then, and I didn't even realize that I even had this card. When I was looking for why that is, I saw I had this card in my land as PP for one of the factories as Inevitable has 2500 in PP.
That means my card is locked at the moment and needs 3 days of unlocking for when I was to do something with it. The question of course is do I want to do something with it?
I used to have a Minotaur Warlord gold foil which I sold for like $80 which eventually turned into a card worth more than $1000 and now it is back to $400 in value. But I don't have it anymore now..
So what is wise to do
The reality is that this card is listed at the moment for $200 which is a shitload of money. The best bid at the moment is $90 which is an instant grab without waiting to get this straight into your wallet. There are only 120 cards of this one circulating in total which is not a lot and this makes it kind of special!
But the production point are also nice and my land is producing Ore and Grain and we have no idea what will happen with that. So maybe I want to keep the production going. Or maybe I can wait until the price of this card might even rise. Or it might drop and every debate on this turned out to be pointless.
Or maybe I list it for $180 bucks and have the option to do some nice things with it. After all, sometimes it is nice to also take something out of a game instead of only spending it back in there.
What I could do with these $180 bucks
- Buy 12 plots of land
- Buy 6 plots of land and also buy the DEC for the dark energy
- Buy more HIVE since HIVE is holding up really well
- Buy SPS as the price went up really nicely for a while
- Buy half of a plane ticket to #Hivefest
- Buy the ticket to Hivefest with these funds
- Buy 486 Chaos packs (literally!!!) and hope for some cool cards in there
- Buy 120 Riftwatchers packs
- Buy some other alt coins that seem promising at the moment and fumble around with that
- Fix my bicycle from it (it really needs maintenance)
- Have a super fancy dinner to celebrate that some cards also bring nice things
I mean the options are endless in this one now I found some potential free funds. Now first I have to think what I even want to do with it.
I will just unlock the card and see what my mind tells me to do in 3 days. Exciting times! Did you ever find these kinds of lucky gems in somewhere?

Oh that brings up SPL memories. I had so many of these GFL at some point, and I also had two mystery cards with max 80 of them out there as well as a GFL that was over 2000 bucks at some point. Ugh, I had it all sold before the boom. Should've could've would"ve situation but then again, I couldn't because real life had too many challenges at the time.
BUT if you don't need it, think it through well before putting them up for sale :)
Often these more expensive cards are for sale quite long though, at least it was like that in the past..

Yeah I also haven't made my choice as yet on this one. Apparently people want it. But they want it today and they might not want it tomorrow. And it is just nice getting an extra buck here and there from something, so the debate is still on hahahah
That's the thing, I wish I would have sold mine when they were that wanted instead of later in the drop when I needed the cash, could have reinvested and have more out of it but it is what it is. Expensive lesson, for sure.
But then I remind myself of the fact that at least we HAD the opportunity to get by in real life thanks to being on Steemit and later Hive.. some other had no clue they could find some financial relief here. I invested a lot of my time and energy for it though, so it didn't come for free :)

haha I remember that feeling of opening packs and then a shaking card, especially when it turned gold haha..
