Easter Time and egg business
It is the end of Lent and fasting time and that means Easter is on the program for a lot of people. I don't know how it is your country but here in the Netherlands general opinion about these holidays has changed a lot over the years. People just want their holidays and extra days off, but the meaning of the celebration has become more of a story than exactly knowning what it is about.
As I was hearing yeasterday outside, Easter was all about having the grandchildren look for eggs in the garden. You could literally head the from garden to garden small kiddy voices scream from exitement when they found another chocolate egg.
Warm memories to those days on searching the eggs, believing you have found everything but months later we would find some buried underneeith something still
Here in the Netherlands there has been a lot to do about eggs and especially hobby eggs from hobby chicken owners that they would contain too much PFAS because of the PFAS in the ground water.
As they say the worms ingest the ground water and the chickens eat the worms and the eggs have the PFAS.
I'm not really sure what to think about this honestly and somewhere the little voice inside me says that the egg industry lobby has something to do with this.

Eggs is business!
As we could see over the last couple of months in the US the price of eggs was crazy high due to birdflu (I think) and there were a lot less chickens available
This has also stabilized again over the last few weeks. I guess everyone is getting ready for Easter ;)
The funny thing looking at eggs in the Netherlands is that the price of them has already been high for years and even the US price is a breeze compared to Dutch eggs.
I guess that is also why a lot people are having more hobby chicken and that is why I have this feeling that someone will benefit when less people have hobby eggs.
Nothing is for free right? Take a lot at this comparison of the price of eggs compared to the Dutch price of eggs. This is a big ouch!

Well enough on the conspiracy theories for now, it is time to head out for some family business as Easter Monday is a holiday as well.
Happy egg hunting guys!
Eggcellent! Seems like everyone's getting ready for some garden races! 🐰🥚
