Weekend Experience: Sanitizing My Home By Washing My Bedspreads
Greetings everyone, happy last Saturday of September to you.
Throughout this week, I've been so busy with work. So I thought as much to engage myself in making sure that I make my house smell nice by washing my bedspreads.
This weekend, I washed my bedspreads. As a lady, which I am, I'm not supposed to keep dirty clothes in my house.
I was told it's not healthy to do that. If they're clothes I don't need, I was told to burn them, and that has been working for me.
So during the course of washing those bedspreads, I discovered that they were so heavy that my hands could not carry them.
The one with green colour is a new bedspread, and the other one is an old bedspread.
What I discovered was that, one was lighter, while the other was heavier.
At a point, I began to ask myself why my brother decided to go for a heavier bedspread that I wanted to break my ankle while I was trying to squeeze it, so that I could reduce the level of water that was there.
So when he returned, I decided to ask him what was on my mind, and he told me, I like a heavy bedspread.
According to him, it lasts longer in bed than the lighter ones.
My experience was indeed a great one. Starting from the experience I got while trying to wash those bedspreads, and the lesson I learnt from my brother.
At a point, I began to wonder why I didn't know all those things by myself. But I discovered that there are certain things I must learn from people who are more experienced than I am.
The first thing I did was to pour detergent into a black bucket, before I put water.
I then used my hand to turn it, so that the foam would come out.
After that, I put the two bedspreads inside the bucket.
Then I started washing them with soap before I rinsed them.
I took them to a rope where I hung them.
It wasn't easy though, but my hands and the passion I have for washing made everything possible for me.
I didn't feel pain in my hands when I was done washing. At a point, I began to think why do people pay house helpers to come to their houses and help them wash their clothes, when their hands are there.
I'm always glad each time I use my hands to do something rather than pay someone to do it. It made me gain more strength and courage to face any difficult situation around me. I had a nice weekend.
It's the last Saturday of this month, what are you doing? Or what are you planning to do?
A lot of people are doing environmental sanitation, what are you doing too?
I'm expecting to hear from you as well.
