Traditional Music Versus Modern Music:- Afri-InLeo Initiative 53

Hello fellow hive members, How are you doing there? I am @joshuabbey. Here is another opportunity to put our thoughts into writing. I give kudos to the admin in the leo finance and our dear community admin @afri-tunes for this initiative. Here we are this week with another topic. The theme before us this week says: "Traditional Music Versus Modern Music".

Music is a form of expression, and both traditional and modern music share this fundamental purpose. I think I need to differentiate between the two before I begin to state the reason why I prefer one to the other. When we talk about music, like I've been seeing from my recent post that music is a way of life. Traditional music to me can also be referred to as local music while modern music can also be referred to as international music because modern music genres are widely accepted by people.
Each culture has their way of performing musically, and the traditional music of a group of people reflects their culture, and their way of life. This kind of music is often pass down from generation to generation and every community have their own tradition which can be in form of folk music. Mother music is a new era type of music, it is produced in a more contemporary form, which means tie a new technology. Modern music has no traditional or cultural attachments, meaning that it is not attached to any particular region or culture. Example of modern music are pop music, rock music, hip hop, country music etc.

Traditional music plays a great role in cultural identity creating social bond between the members of the community. This kind of music is played or rendered during festivals, during occasion, that is traditional occasions. Traditional music can sometimes be folk songs, it can be a ceremonial music, it can be a dance music within a particular culture or region. In this kind of music traditional instruments or local instruments are used such as the African talking drum the yoruba agogo and some other local instruments. Modern type of music is played with more complex type of instruments, it can be electronic instruments of modern age like the piano, guitar, drum sets, saxophone and other brass instruments.
Traditional music is about cultural value, which can be the story of that culture or the history of the people. It's reflect the social contexts of a community while Mordan type of music is mainly about the current social trend, It can also be based on political issues.
Talking about our choice among the two type of music, I believe the older people will prefer the traditional music because of its lyrics based, while the younger generation the present generation will prefer the modern day music because that is the kind of music they that is trending in our days and it is the music of our own generation. In my next posts I will be talking about my choice of music and the reason why I have chosen the type of music.
