So like I mentioned in a blog post a few days ago, I recently celebrated 8 years on the blockchain. You have to understand the state of Jongo and what my life was like back in 2017. Here's a dude that made a killing from his online businesses, worked from the comfort of his home for over 2 decades and then lost....Everything on one April morning of that same year.

I came to this blockchain with absolutely zero to invest.....

Money that is.

But what I did have was time. And plenty of it because this blockchain aligned with my dreams and plans for the rebuilding of my online business. So I invested the only asset I owned...And that was time.

If you look at the short term gains for being active and investing your time here, you will give up REALLY quick. Let's be honest, the whales on the blockchain are searching for your content. And while you will find the odd generous member that gives you an upvote or two of sizeable weight, you really need patience here.

But if you pull back and look at the big picture, you can see where this can lead to. I came in here with nothing but time and built my $HIVE power up to over 150k in about 6 years. Maybe less, but most definitely not longer than 6 years. And while that may not seem like a ton, here's what I have generated by investing time and energy here:

And yeah, when I did get some extra fiat I bought tokens. And when we split from Steem, I used all that Steem to buy Hive. But still, almost half of what I eventually earned here was through nothing but...Time invested and effort given.

And sure, this isn't going to set the world on fire because who knows where the price of this stuff will ever go but there are some very unique opportunities here once you get active and start investing...Time.

You can look at things like $HBD or SURGE as a way to generate income from your earning here. You can power up Hive and start curating, which at last look earned around 10-14% APR. And that's just the tip of the ice berg. Once you get in here and get active, the potential can really explode.

But it starts with an investment of your time. And along that, comes patience. Lots of it. And if you are just starting out too, eat some humble pie. Meaning, be a sponge and don't think you know it all. Learn from the people that have been here before and paved the road. But most importantly, enjoy the experience.

The best thing about all the communities, tribes and projects on this chain is 100% the people you meet. There is just simply nothing else like it on any #web3 platform out there. Spend your TIME getting to know these people. Add value to their journey and to the entire comunity you are around and beautiful things will happen.

One more piece of advice....The drama isn't worth it. Keep your head down, ignore the noise and just add value. Do that over TIME and I think you will be able to look back and agree....The greatest investment you can make in crypto, is investing your time here in #web3
