Some Age Old Blockchain Advice

This is a follow up to the post I wrote yesterday but also the beginning of a little 'series' I was planning on creating here on my blog.

So instead of me whining about how bad everything is here on chain, we could go over a few techniques we can all use right now that actually....Helps the blockchain!

Not only that, it will help our accounts grow and add more value overall. Here's the best part, these techniques won't cost a penny.

There are some optional things we can do, that might take a Hive token or two, but these will be optional tricks that I have used myself over the years.

Now please note, this isn't gospel! This is just what has worked for me here on chain since 2017, and now that Hive's price seems to be on the rebound, more eyes may start showing up here.

Create & Curate

This should be as straightforward as it gets here, but sadly a big chunk of the accounts here on chain just lurk. And they don't even seem to be lurking these days.

Regardless of what people will tell you, this chain is still a fantastic place to build a brand. Now obviously, the brand on chain will not be as impactful as say, building a brand on YouTube. But the same strategy on web2 works here as well....You must be active and consistent!

While there is no 'algorithm' here, the fact is when you are out of sight you are out of mind. So be active through creation and curation!

Engage Daily

If you remember some of my older blog posts over the years I came up with this little formula that still holds some weight today:

But the lesson still holds true...Everyday we need to engage and interact with 5 new members of the community. Every day! Like clockwork.

This is the fuel that helps build up your reputation on chain but please be warned...This doesn't mean just show up and say 'Nice post' to 5 different people...Spend the time to engage and add value to their posts.

This is even easier to do now because we have @snapie Snaps and @ecency Waves. There is no excuse for us not to be engaging with more people daily!

Actually Use The Apps

We really have some of the greatest #web3 applications in history and they are all on chain right now.

Want to use short form content? Ecency Waves and Snapie for the win!

Videos? 3 Speak! Pics? Liketu!

There is no reason not to use these applications either. They are built right on chain and there are some dedicated and amazing teams working each of them. Let's be products of the product every day!

Bonus Technique

Now this my cost a Hive token or two. And there may be some purists out there that frown upon it. I think they are part of the old guard and why this blockchain isn't a top 10 token on the markets but alas...They run the show here so if you use this technique, it may or may not get you 'frowned' on.

But I've been doing this for years!

When people give you some amazing comments, and support your work...Return the favor with a small token of appreciation in the form of @steembasicincome shares!

I have been sending shares to people for years now and I think it's a great way for smaller creators here on chain to get a vote or two but also, a way to say 'thanks' to everyone that takes the time and engages with me.

Now this is optional. And most definitely not something you have to do, but it's always great to support those who support you!

Here's the bottom line...We aren't going to change the markets! The powers that be on chain, have control and they aren't going to give it up. But by following the above tips, we can actually use this chain and continue to build our personal brands on it.

It never costs a lot of money to do this stuff, but it does take effort and a whole lot of patience :)
