RE: The Walk, The Stumble, The Walk

Care to share what denomination you follow?

Unapologetically, I'm a Seventh Day Adventist.

I am reminded of what I have leaned about the treatment of Aboriginal Peoples in North America. In particular, Truth and Reconciliation.

Which church did most of the atrocities? The good ol' Roman Catholic church. Again, it's never the people....Catholics are fantastic people. I've met amazing guys and gals on the chain here that follow the church.

But to deny it's history, and the atrocities it's done in the name of God is plain ignorant.

To me, love is spiritual.

I agree 100000% but you need to break it down now and ask...Where does love come from? 1 John 4:8 gives you the answer. God is love :)

If one lies to me, that would be negative energy received and could be called bad spirits.

I look at it like, we're all fallen. We all have a sinful nature. If you hold grudges and dont forgive, you are going against what Christ said. So for me, I fail every day, but I'm redeemed because of Him. So I strive to get better, every day.

Appreciate the dialogue.

Which church did most of the atrocities?

It was not just Catholic church goers that were sinners. Not sure why you keep saying you know some good Catholic people.

But to deny it's history, and the atrocities it's done in the name of God is plain ignorant.

Like today, some people support Israel genocide of Palestinians while others deny there is a genocidal process occurring. There is no shortage of sinners. These sinners are not just followers of the Catholic Church. I am not aware of any award for the church that host fewer sinners.

Where does love come from?

It comes from a spiritual connection when you are free of hate and judgement.

So for me, I fail every day, but I'm redeemed because of Him. So I strive to get better, every day.

Careful you don't get caught in an endless loop. Best not to sin in the first place. !LOLZ

Thank you for the exchange. I do appreciate learning from exploring differing perspective.

Oh 100% there are sinners in every church. A church should be filled with sinners, Christ didn't come for the righteous but sinners to repentance!

Which like you said, the goal is always...To not sin. But that's a tall task, almost like we needed an example and Savior to do it and show us the way. Which is why I follow Christ.

For sure, I'll talk anyone's ear off about my belief if they want lol. But I'll never push it on people.

I find it interesting that Jesus spoke of building a "church" for followers in a spiritual sense and what has unfolded is much different than his teachings.

When a bunch of sinners hangout together and follow another sinner that claims to be Christians it is not difficult to see that some evil is in the works.

Take Trump for example. The fact this sinner and felon became President of USA, twice, is a strong indicator of corruption in a few "churches". I place churches in quotes to include other gathering places and not just followers of Christianity. So, I can appreciate your disdain for Catholic Church and hope you have a good understanding of sins committed under the umbrella of other churches.

the goal is always...To not sin. But that's a tall task,

There is a need for more honesty everywhere. All evil doings are rooted in dishonesty. With more honesty we can break the cycle that some sinners get caught into; as you say, it's a tall task. But doable. Sinners need “a change of thinking.”, ie Repentance. Here lies the problem, words are being said (prayer) but the actions are contradictory to the understanding of repentance. When we have many repeat offenders you have to take a closer look at systemic problems in the system.

Penitentiaries are a booming business in USA. This is because some capitalist sinners have converted repentance into a profit making opportunity.

We are in a period where we may see the destruction of another capitalistic empire. I see Amsterdam as the first capitalistic empire that collapsed, the British empire took the baton and also failed and now USA is the third empire that could very well collapse because of the greed of sinners.

I am sadden to see the destruction and harm caused by sinners but I am also motivated to creating opportunities for non-sinners. Maybe Hive blockchain is becoming my church. !LOLZ

I could bore you to death with a huge study on Revelation...Where we can see the dragon, the beast and the false prophet falling in the end times.

Dragon = Satan
Beast = Roman Catholic Church / Papacy
False Prophet = Protestant America / Christian Conservatives

The bible literally says that people will start killing believers in Christ, thinking they are working for Christ...aka, the right wing fundamentalists in America.

I see that the Truth and Reconciliation link I provided is not loading.

truth_and_reconciliation.png

The important part in the report is to recognize that the report also documented that the Anglican, Presbyterian, United, and Roman Catholic Churches were all involved in the system, which aimed to assimilate Indigenous children.

Also important, the atrocities also happened in USA. Canada is much more proactive in addressing reconciliation. However, they are still slow with corrective action that must be taken.

The majority of Christians in USA are Protestants. I mention this so readers don't overlook that the Catholic Church is not the only organization that has caused and continue to cause hurt for Indigenous peoples.

That article even admits they meet the characteristics lol At least they are honest about it. They do have some ripe claims in the Catechism as well.

Here's some fun info:

Yeah make sure you ask an Adventist what we believe, instead of what the internet. I was baptized Adventist about a decade ago. Best decision of my life :)
