As a swing trader, keeping a stock for weeks doesn't bother me. The Philippine stock market doesn't fluctuate as much as crypto do- at least for the stocks that I think has good fundamentals. However, holding them for too long, say 1-2 years sure does bother me.

When I first traded in the stock market, a 20% paper loss would put me into panic mode because the money I put into my trades are my salary money- the little money i earned rendering my time and efforts to my employer. So it does feel like a pain in the ass.

In my whole trading journey, I never cut loss despite given advise to cut loss and transfer my capital to a much better stocks- I never and will never do.

Today, I finally sold my oldest stock in my portfolio- CNVRG.

Technically, the chart says that this stock is at an uptrend. For some analyst, they would suggest to hold the stock a little longer as it might reach higher. But then again, no one can outsmart the market. My target price has been reached so I sold my shares- simple.

I had this stock since January 2023 at a hyped price of 18 pesos. Then it went downhill and reached as low as 8 pesos. Some of my fellow traders have long sold their stock and traded at the next hyped stock. But I held on. Fortunately, starting last year, CNVRG offered a 1-2% dividends per share. A year and a half later, the stock started its uptrend again and finally, it hit my target selling price of 20.50 pesos today giving me a 12% gain.

I'm just glad I didn't sold my share immaturely and patiently waited for the right time. If the stock decides to go higher, I would gracefully accept my opportunity costs / sunk cost and move on.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!

Sending some love and light

With love, Jane
