From Peaks to Valleys: Reflecting on Hive’s 2025

A little late to wrap up my 2025 Hive journey—three days, but I couldn’t skip this one. It’s been a year of highs and lows, and as always, sharing it with my fellow Hivers made it worthwhile. For those who’ve been watching the market alongside me, you know it hasn’t been the easiest ride—Hive, like many altcoins, struggled to find its footing this year.

Hive Price

Over the past year, Hive’s price has experienced a steep and sustained decline, falling from highs near ₱40 to its current ₱5.73, representing a 73.9% loss. The first quarter saw the most dramatic drop, with the price quickly losing more than half of its value, signaling strong initial volatility and possible market overvaluation. From March to September, the price stabilized somewhat, oscillating between ₱10 and ₱20, reflecting periods of consolidation and minor recoveries. However, starting in October, Hive faced another downtrend, with consistent losses pushing the price closer to single digits. This trajectory indicates weakening investor confidence and limited buying pressure, as evidenced by the flattening of the graph in the last months. While small upward blips appear intermittently, the overall sentiment remains bearish.

Meanwhile, unlike the wild swings of Hive, HBD has been more of a steady companion—mostly hovering close to its $1 peg, but with some bumps along the way. Early in the year, it briefly traded above $1.05, giving a small thrill of stability and optimism. By mid-year, slight dips below $1 reflected moments of uncertainty in the broader crypto market, but nothing dramatic enough to shake confidence. What struck me most was its resilience during Hive’s rollercoaster price swings; even as Hive lost significant value, HBD largely held its ground. In the final months, HBD again flirted with $1.02, reminding me that stability in crypto is rare—and valuable. For anyone holding HBD, the past year was a lesson in calm amidst chaos, showing that sometimes, slow and steady really does win the race.

Reflection on the year that has been

As a writer, my duty is to produce more quality contents in this platform even if it means not posting daily but rather only in moments where I think my contents are worth posting. After all, blog posts are the life blood of hive. My sincerest gratitude to this community for allowing me to share parts of me that I would've kept private in real life.

However, as an average investor, this phenomenon seals a clear limit of how much risk I am willing to take. Fortunately, I was able to accumulate a little over 3,000 HBD for the past year that gave me some hedge through interest.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!

Sending some love and light

With love, Jane

@scion02b I'm jealous of your optimism. Like others, I'm still waiting for the reversal sign before diving thru hive again.
