The Price Of Making Extra Income In My Country

Is there really an easy means to earn more? I doubt it. If there is, kindly let me know in the comment section. Every day people wake up by the sound of their alarm clock, so as to beat traffic and get to their places of work on time, because lateness to work attracts some penalties - surcharge from their meagre paycheck. Tell me, has the person who was woken up by the alarm clock finished sleeping? Can we say it's an easy way to earn even if the job is just to keep the gate irrespective of the pay?

In my country, Nigeria, every day you see people migrating to other countries where they feel has fairer chances of earning more than ours. Aside from the fact that those country's exchange rate is way bigger than ours, you have the opportunity to engage in two or more jobs in a day because their payment structure is hourly while ours is monthly, with longer work period per day. Thereby making it difficult for one to engage in more than one income source. That, does not still mean that it's easy for them over there.

Some of those who decided to remain in the country do some online jobs to add to their normal jobs or businesses. Sadly, a lot of people had been scammed through most online businesses as they could hardly figure out which is genuine or not, in a bid to spread their tentacles, to earn more. To avoid continuing falling victims of internet fraudsters, people now resolved to taking advantage of social media, through content creation, affiliate marketing, freelancing, infopreneur, etc. Does it mean it's easy? No, I don't think so.

All the above mentioned require the internet to operate andit also costs more here. Like in my case, i spend #15,000(10 HBD) every month just on the internet alone. Irrespective of the fact that there are tons of fake online businesses, there are genuine ones too and that is the most suitable hustle one can get involved in to attach to whatever job, skill or business one does. Because, one's physical presence isn't usually required to make it work. Sometimes, one may be working online and doze off, that's stress and a signal that the body needs rest at that moment. But one keeps fighting it just to make some extra cash. Indeed, it's not easy.

Most times you see some university graduates riding commercial motorcycles/ tricycles just to make ends meet, instead of doing mania jobs that won't cover their transport fare let alone feeding. Because getting a good job is mostly based on “who you know”, not “what you know”. Too bad!

Finally, there's no easy means of earning more in my country, and I don't think there is anywhere in the world either. But the fact is the youth in my country are dogged, resilient and persistent. That is why some get involved in skill acquisitions before or after leaving school to avoid depending on the government for a job. While some do other online jobs to make a living because earning more is just like a thug of war.
