Marriage is like the housefly stocked inside the house struggling to get out, some of the ones outside want to get in, while the others don't care. Different people have different opinions about marriage for different reasons.
Hello Hiveans and the beautiful family of QC Community. Trust y'all are doing great. Welcome to my blog and to this week's prompt;
Marriage - What's your opinion on marriage? Do you think it's still something people aspire to experience in their lives? Do you think it has the same meaning, or do you think it's changed, and why?
Marriage is companionship! It's beyond procreation between two “lovebirds” who decided to settle down and raise a family. Though we all have different views as to what it's all about. Loneliness is like cancer that eats deep into one's system. It's a disease neither money nor having flocks of friends around one can cure. Hence, the need for Marriage. Marriage is a justification that “two is company, three is crowd”, workable when both share mutual interests, value and purpose. This is my opinion about marriage.
Unfortunately the intent to which marriage was instituted has been abused by many. People no longer find peace in their once cherished home, nor even find it habitable contrary to their expectations before going in. This experience has made a lot of people scared to hear the word “marriage” let alone going into it. To some, the word marriage only exists in the dictionary.
While some are skeptical about it, there are some who still aspire to get in there. In fact, it's some people's prayer point. Despite the ugly experiences of some, some still wish to get married. That is the irony of life. Though,that is not to say there isn't a peaceful marriage out there, or marriage is bad. Truth be told, marriage is a beautiful thing if you're with the right person.
Irrespective of people's diverse experiences in marriage or how anyone feels about it, it does not change its original meaning which is purposely for companionship like I mentioned earlier. Marriages fail because people fail to go through the pain of adjustment of certain characters which may not augur well in their marriage. Marriage is commitment and sacrifice.
When people fail to listen or adhere to some red flags that are most likely to taunt them in the future and go into marriage hoping to see a change of such habits, because they believe that love is all that matters in marriage, it poses a threat in future.
Due to these setbacks, or negative experiences, a lot of people no longer find the institution called marriage interesting. They treat it with levity as something that could be discarded at will. All these still did not change the fact that marriage is sacred irrespective of people's opinions or how they treat it. People's behaviours towards marriage changed, not marriage.

God made marriage for the wellbeing of mankind although many people have abused it due selfish reasons and sometimes ignorance.
Marriage is sweet if you marry someone that really understand the real purpose of it.
I was really choked with so many activities as regards to school resumption,I would have loved to part of this interesting topic.

Ufff this is such a great point. And some people think that they can change the other person and make them better. It means that they are not in love with the current person but with the person they believe can become.
Exactly! If you can't live with the current person then it's better not to go into lifetime commitment with them. The truth is, it's difficult to change a person.
Marriage is originally designed for companionship and procreation. Unfortunately, marriages have become contracts where people go into for transactions.
Whatever one can't change in a relationship, they obviously can't change in marriage.
This is the major problem faced in marriages these days...too bad.

Lots of things have gone wrong and contrary to the original beliefs and expectations about marriage.
But still, there are sincere and lovely marriages around and in existence.
Everyone can not behave the same, some people still loves, respects and honour their relationship.
I'm still saying marriage is beautiful and very inspiring.

Yes, many women are really enjoying their marriages, I know a friend, they have been married for 20 years and still appreciate being together,
He just built a quality duplex for the lady's parents in her own village, they go abroad for vacations, he complies with everything that will make their home, the marriage, the children and his inlaws happy.
That's what I love and want to hear and see, not those manipulative couples I don't like it at all.

There are a lot of successful marriages out there. It's just that social has made it look as if all marriages now are bad. That's not true. Though there are bad ones due to wrong choices.
Yes... Even from the ancient times, there are good and bad marriages, that's why each an every one of us should put serious effort to see that our marriages are working, it's our duty but I know some are unamendable,
don't also forget to always pray, be a child of God and believe him to sort everything out for your good.

love, most of the times, can fade away or get lower than before. Then what you know and what you can do will take over to sustain your marriage.
