Hive Vs Web 2 Social Media Platforms

(Edited)

Warm greetings the beautiful family of Hive and #indiaunited community. How are you doing? I trust it's cool with you. I'm doing pretty well. I'm excited to come your way again to participate in this week's prompt. Welcome to a brand new day and my blog.

Comparing Hive with centralized social media platforms.

You are invited to join here

Apart from the fact that both platforms create avenues to socialize and make friends, network and advertise one's business which I truly like. One of the things I like about Hive is that; it promotes and encourages originality, thereby discouraging or frowning at plagiarism. Which is not obtainable in other centralized socials. I've been banned from commenting on several occasions on Facebook, the reason being that I've commented too much, lol. While here I'd be rewarded for it, like what @ecency does every week.✨

I remember my first post here after my introduction, some of my contents were AI aided. Immediately after I submitted my content, I got a notification from @hivebuzz with a clear warning on Hive's guide on using AI content in any form( even though I reconstructed the content in my own words), that was when I knew Hive was in for real business. But this is unlike centralized social media platforms where such things are not being checked.

In one of my Hive promotions, where I invited one of my friends on WhatsApp to join Hive. After telling her the benefits of joining Hive by doing the same things she does on Facebook and other centralized socials, she asked; “can I copy the same contents I've posted on my pages there and paste on Hive?” I said no. She said she'd think about it and get back to me, she never did, even when I followed her up she never gave me a reasonable answer.

Most content creators on web 2 socials usually copy other people's contents and post, without referencing the original creators. No one sanctions anyone there for plagiarism. Some people don't want to task themselves and be original, or be the primary creators of a content like it's obtainable here on Hive. Hence, the main reason they don't want to join Hive, even when they do, they don't thrive, after a few months, they leave.

On Hive, you don't need multiple followers to get wider visibility for your contents unlike centralized social media platforms where that is the major determinant. Not only that, having large followers is not a guarantee that your account is secured as you could wake up one morning and find out you no longer have access to your account. Just a few weeks ago, this happened to a popular social media influencer with 3.6m followers on Instagram. His account was practically taken down, all his efforts in building that account were gone. But here such a thing is not obtainable, you are the one in charge and control of your account.

More so, here, you get rewarded for taking time to create content irrespective of whether you have followers or not, other users of the platform who support you through their likes (upvotes), comments and reblogs(shares) also get rewarded too. It's a win- win game. But in centralized social media platforms it is not so. Earning is determined by the attainment of the required number of followers with other rigorous protocols, even those who support you through your contents don't get rewarded. They only push the ones with large followers to get monetized but then left with nothing.

Finally, Hive is so organized that it has different communities which were created for different purposes according to one's areas of interest. One earns for spending one's time in the platform creating values, gaining knowledge and catching fun too. In web 2 socials on the other hand, one can't find such. One may catch fun through contents posted by the influencers but not earning a dim for the time spent there which is the greatest part of one's life that one can't get back if wasted.

In summary, Hive Blockchain changed the status quo of social media platforms. No time spent on Hive is wasted because one gets rewarded for it. Unlike in centralized social media where it's a complete opposite.

Thanks for stopping by! 💚

People who do not care to be creative in dishing out content or value would find it difficult to join and stay on hive. That is why even knowing that they do not get rewarded in centralized platforms, they still wish to engage there because they can share any or every valueless stuff there. This makes hive very different. Posts and engagement on hive are mostly wholesome and value packed

Hive brought out the best in me. I have to think, make research, and be creative instead of relying on Ai.

Hive is a wonderful platform 👏
