I always though the Sony bodies weren't as well weather sealed as the competition from Canon and Nikon. Just be careful with it! Last thing you want is a malfunctioning camera!
Europe is so vastly different from Australia. We don't have the cobblestone streets. I wish we banned cars on more roads and laneways, and I wish we had thread stores like the one featured in your photo.
It is clear these sorts of spaces are built for community, and interaction, as opposed to get in car, go to place, get out of car, get back in car.
You see so much more of the city and your environment in places like this. It makes me loathe the cookie-cutter developments that pop up everywhere here, with no "livability", yet somehow, Australian cities "top" livability scores - or... perhaps it is just propaganda.
Perhaps one day, I will make it to an International Hive meet, but it won't be this next one.
this old inner city was build for trade by boat on the canals but indeed when you are forced to go on foot or bicycle you see so much more of the surroundings. there is also a hive fest planned in Kuala Lumpur that might be a little closer to home for you then Aachen .
Yes, I'm aware of that one, unfortunately funds do not allow travel at the moment, I am out of work currently, and am looking for new opportunities, after a retrenchment following 13 years at the same business. I'm grateful for the break, but I'd like to get back on the so called bike sooner or later. :)
I'm treating the space between jobs as a career break, and using the free time to write an anthology of speculative fiction, and spill all my guts out on Hive! :)
a break is nice , indeed as long as one has backup finance .

Yes, my wife is working full time, and I am getting the odd photography gig here and there, but for the most part, I am definitely enjoying the (frugal) time off :)
