Let us learn something about SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome)! | A Short Titbits on BEE delegation rewards | Off-Chain Leadsleap earning updates | Featuring a short YouTube Video on Mudskipper!
We know that following birth (Day 1), the newborn is called a neonate till the age of 28 days. From day 29 (roughly from 1 month), it is called an infant, till 1 year of age! Broadly, an infant is considered up to the age of 1 year! Do you know the leading cause of death of infants? It's "no cause". It is known as sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)!
SIDS is defined as the death of a healthy infant without any identifiable cause! The risk is higher in the first 6 months, but it extends to the age of one year! It is seen that SIDS is more prevalent in day care centers than at home!
We already know that there are no exact causes of such infant deaths. But what are the risk factors that bring such a tragedy? Let us learn some of those.
- Inexperienced caregiver at home or at the child care center
- Not using a separate sleep surface (sleeping in the same bed, without using a separate cot)
- Failure to put the infant on his/her back while sleeping Sleeping on the chest increases the risk.
- Having soft objects around, or loose bedding that could obstruct the infant's nose
- Not maintaining a comfortable room temperature; overheating or overcooling
- Failure to breastfeed
- Passive smoking
- Failure to vaccinate on schedule

BEE is the native Hive-Engine token. Being a tribe token, if we have staked BEE, we can earn curation rewards by voting on the posts with #hive-engine tags. Using the same tag in our post, we can earn author rewards also.
If we can't use the staked BEE in our H-E wallet, we can delegate the tokens and earn rewards without doing anything. The bee.voter account gives us that opportunity!
For example, by delegating 854 $BEE token to the above-mentioned account, this week I earned 2.126 HIVE!
From Leadsleap, one of the off-chain affiliate marketing sites, we can earn some cool cash by sending visitors to our specific co-op link. Every Friday, we get the earnings details for the last 7 days!
From 17 October to 23 October, for 458 visitors to my Leadsleap Co-op link, I earned $1.0634!
I found this BBC Earth video on the Mudskipper fish quite amazing. Pretty amazing features they have! I am sure you won't feel bored watching this 3:56-minute-long video!
Thanking you

It's interesting to know the transition from neonate to infant. I also didn't know that breastfeeding prevents SIDS.
I am glad to hear that your learned something here :)
Breastfeed could prevent SIDS. It's not the established cause, in fact, SIDS has no exact cause. It is one of the risk factor!

My pleasure.
I am probably wrong because I am not a doctor.
Even though I am a strong believer in breastfeeding, I disagree with you that not doing it has anything to do with SIDS, as long as the baby is getting the right formula it needs, even though it is not as good as breast milk. It contains most everything a baby needs to stay healthy, except the mother's immunity.
I breastfed all of mine, but some women can not breastfeed for a number of reasons, some might be on life saving medication, or they might find it uncomfortable. Whatever the reason, it is up to the woman, we should not say your baby might die from SIDS if you do not breastfeed.
That is just my opinion. I hope you are having a great weekend.

I agree with you too. It's not the solid cause, as by default, SIDS has no identifiable cause! However, researches depends on data! It's just one of the risk factors. The rate of SIDS, maybe, higher in non-breastfeed baby! That's why it is one the list!
Thanks for stopping by. Yes. I had a good weekend! Thanks for asking!
