RE: The biggest bar night of the year

When I was still in college, one of the busiest nights of the year was actually Christmas day because all the college kids were back home visiting their parents and would go out to see all their old high school friends who were also back visiting from college. I don't know if it is still a thing now but it was a really stupid day to do that also and I guess the police just let everyone get a pass on drink driving that night. A little "don't crash and we wont interfere" sort of gift from the boys in blue.

I can see that, but I guess that is the thinking with the night before Thanksgiving as well. It seems like most college kids would have more time around the holidays, but it's been so long that I have been in college. I know my niece got the whole week off from university this past week. Then she goes back for like two weeks and then is home again. Kind of dumb.

haha. I always felt that way about all holidays but in the case of your niece this could be a huge pain and an expensive one for families. When I was in college if we had a situation like that I would just choose one side or the other and go home only for that part. I was only a 4 hour drive to where my parents lived but that was still too much work to just have to turn around again. Plus, we got really good hours at any jobs that we had during these student holidays so there was a lot of incentive for me to stick around if i could.

She has a five hour drive from Virginia to Ohio, but she doesn't really seem to mind it. I lived at home during college so I can't really relate!
