The Tick Clock; A Lesson learned in Procrastinating

Let me start this topic with a rhythm from my primary school days, which has stuck with me, but I don't usually follow it sometimes.

This rhythm has stuck with me, not me alone, but everyone, but not all of us are acting based on the rhythm. This should remind us that time waits for no one, and one of the instruments to waste time is procrastination. Procrastination is seen as a silent killer of purpose, a thief of destiny, a waste of time, and a killer of joy.

I recall a painful experience with a land investment. We acquired a plot of land some years ago, intending to build on it to prevent land grabbers. However, we kept postponing, year after year. By the time we were ready to act, we met something surprising on the land. It had been sold unknowingly to another person and the person had built a house, almost to the end. We lost the land due to procrastinating; we will do it today, tomorrow, and next week, and we killed the first landed property we got. Do you know what? We failed to finalize the deed of assignment as a result of procrastination.

Another regrettable incident was when I had a substantial amount of money, #200,000, which I decided to keep at home, postponing the trip to the bank as a result of doing it later. Robbers invaded our apartment, found the cash, and took it all. I'm left regretting my decision, wondering what could have been if I had taken the money to a safe place.

These experiences serve as cautionary measures about the dangers of procrastination. Despite these lessons, I still struggle with putting things off. The ticking clock reminds me to act swiftly, lest I miss opportunities or face similar regrets.

That common phrase; time will tell is meaningful if you don't act fast.
