You will always wait for the leaf on the dry tree / Siempre esperarás la hoja en el árbol seco

Hello, girls!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I don't doubt it.

I was recently walking down a street where I noticed two trees, side by side, both as similar as they were different. One had its beautiful, blooming green foliage, while the other showed me its bare branches.

And that made me think. I thought about our individuality and how different we as people can be. It made me realize how similar we are to trees. I saw myself as a woman/tree, my husband as a man/tree, and my children as those small sprouts or saplings walking beside me.
My children, in particular, were an essential part of this reflection. They are siblings. Like these trees, siblings can grow together, feed on the same substrate, have the same upbringing, and yet, although they look alike, they are not the same.

Let's look at two siblings who have been raised the same way, with the same values and the same love. However, from a young age they display their own characteristics, their distinct tastes. These qualities have been reinforced, and therefore, when they become adults, they will be completely different, although in essence, they are the same.
Just like these trees. They are united by the same earth that nourishes them; they receive the same nutrients, the same amount of water and sunlight, and yet one is dry, while the other is healthy.
That's why we sometimes see siblings where one is a good person, studious, and hardworking, while the other chooses the wrong path or the easy way.

You can call it free will, you can call it whatever, but this isn't always due to upbringing, but to that inherent individuality within each of us that makes us unique. The power to decide.
But where there was love, there will always be hope.
However, if one of those two trees that grew together, nourished by the same substrate and coming from the same earth that unites them, can flourish and bear good fruit, we will always have hope.
You will always hope to see the green leaf on the withered tree.

¡Hola, chicas!
