There's no need to be ashamed of working hard / No hay que tener pena de trabajar duro (eng-esp)
Hi, girls!
I know women who are ashamed for people to know they have multiple jobs to support their families. These are women who have studied a lot; some are musicians and think that being a musician or having a Master's degree in science doesn't look good when you work hard.
I am all of those things, and on the contrary, I'm proud to say that I work hard and have everything I need.

Some people live with the fantasy that rich people don't work, or at least don't work very much. And that's not true; quite the opposite.
Great artists and great musicians work incredibly hard and with great dedication.
But the worst part is that some people may believe that, because they are concert performers, writers, or university graduates, they can't afford (and even see it as lowering their standards) to have two or more jobs.
It's as if, having reached a certain level, they should earn so much that it would satisfy all their needs.
That's everyone's dream, but life isn't like that.
My advice is that, until that dream job arrives, you work other jobs.
I myself have several jobs: I'm a soloist, director of a guitar quartet (Sultasto), principal guitarist of the Isaac Nicola Guitar Orchestra, and a guitar teacher at three art schools in Las Tunas, Santiago de Cuba, and Granma. And I'll soon begin teaching at the Higher Institute of Art.
And I could have more.

And, on top of all that, I take care of my two children, my husband, the house, I'm pursuing a PhD in art studies, and I still find time to go out and enjoy myself and celebrate my achievements.

Of course, to be able to do all that, I need to be prepared and have the support of my family. That's essential.
But the most important thing is that you never stop working. There's no such thing as undignified work: work is work.
Of course, one should work at what one is proud of and what makes them happy; where they have decent working conditions and a salary commensurate with their level and quality of work.

But, working hard should never be a source of shame or embarrassment. It should be a source of pride.
You are a strong, hardworking, and independent woman. Because: freedom and independence mean independence of thought and action.
There is nothing better than being free and independent.

Hola, chicas!
